You missed a few Warhammer 40,000 games, even disregarding expansion packs.
Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate
Warhammer 40,000: Final Liberation
Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War
Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command
Space Hulk
Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels
There's a few Warhammer games too.
Blood Bowl
Warhammer: Age of Reckoning
Warhammer: Shadow of the horned Rat
Warhammer: Dark Omen
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos
Skip to 1:36 and watch the text at the bottom if you're feeling impatient.
Or just look at this screenshot taken from the intro:
Honestly I'm quite surprised how high your burden of proof is for this timeline if this kind of source isn't reliable enough to include in the time line.. :?
Since you took down my other suggestion, Gradius V, as dated the year 8010, I will suggest that one for the second time.
If you still don't believe me, here is a photo taken from the manual:
You also took down Robotron 2084, set in the year 2084. Obviously.
To me it seems like you just trashed all of the suggestions made in the last thread. Why I have no idea, because it makes it seem like the last thread was a huge waste. Because now we're spending time sifting through the list to find good timeline suggestions from before so that we can re-suggest them all over again, and go through the trouble of finding additional support for the dates included.
Which makes me wonder why you're bothering with this at all. Are you going to make a timeline V 3.0 in a year and tell us that the suggestions from this thread aren't any good, and have us suggest stuff all over again?
I guess you could say it bothers me that we're trying to help you with this fun project and then you just threw out all the suggestions we came up with.... That's a slap in the face.
Sorry. Things just got complicated because I wasn't double checking anything, and forgot which sources I could trust. This time I'm keeping things more well documented. I understand it's kind of a bummer to have to start over, but I really want to keep at this. At any rate, thanks for continuing to help.
If you want to make sure to keep track of reliable dates, you could put little notations to yourself as to where the source of the date comes from. For example, you could note to yourself whether a date comes from a manual, a game intro, a game title, a developer's statement, etc. That way if there's ever some dispute as to a date you'll know where to look to verify it.

I found a couple by running through some instruction manuals.
Martian Gothic - 2019
Battle Hunter - 2089
One of the flashback missions in Syphon Filter 3 is labeled as taking place in 1999, and it occurs during the intro to the first Syphon Filter.
So if Syphon Filter takes place in 1999, you can find someone who has the original game and you can check the age of the main characters in the manual and compare them to the age of the main characters in the SF2/SF3/etc manuals to determine what year those games take place.
In the Syphon Filter 3 manual Gabe is listed at 37, Lian at 31, Mujari at 39, Maggie at 35, Hadden at 59, and Aramov at 34
edit: Syphon Filter lists Gabe Logan as being 35, and Syphon Filter 2 lists him at 36, which would tell us that Syphon Filter 2 take place in the year 2000 and Syphon Filter 3 takes place in 2001.
Also,
Tomb Raider - 1996
Tomb Raider II - 1997
Tomb Raider III - 1998
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation 1984- 2000
Tomb Raider Chronicles 1995- 2000
But I think Legend/Anniversary/Underworld might retcon the years a little bit.
Resident Evil: Survivor - 1998 (Survivor takes place right after the Spencer Mansion incident).
Added the missing Warhammer games, the three Syphon Filters, and RE: Survivor. I don't think there's a source for the main Warhammer continuity, and Tomb Raider is kind of wonky.
There is no possible way it would ever have occurred to me to look at games in this way, and none either that I would have followed up on the idea even if I'd had it. But somehow, it makes me happy that someone did.
And in particular I love the end of the list, where EVE and WH40k just completely wreck the scale of the timeline. It's like the developers of those worlds were going "Yeah? Well mine is futuristic, plus infinity!!!"
Good question. According to Star Wars Timeline Gold, one can conceivably place the events of A New Hope in the year 1798 AD, based on the events of the Star Wars Tales comic "Into The Great Unknown." I extrapolated everything else from that.
Han is killed by native americans and his corpse is later discovered by Indiana Jones. You're really calling that canon? Two centuries is not "a long time ago" in space years.
It's the timeline equivalent of "A Wizard did it".

I still maintain that yearly installments of professional sports should be stricken from the list. They really don't need to be continually stated on chronology project consisting primarily of fictional or alternate history events.
Posts
Edit: Do we know when Mech Warrior (reboot) takes place?
Hey, I have a blog! (Actually being updated again!)

This Timeline 2.0 is missing a lot of good stuff from the first iteration of this thread
Why did you take things out? Like 1378 BC for Serious Same TFE?
edit: You've removed a ton of stuff... what for?
Steam ID: slashx000______Twitter: @bill_at_zeboyd______ Facebook: Zeboyd Games
for some reason this info blows my mind
Yeah, that has all the dates I contributed too.
At least put serious sam back in!

1378 BC came straight from the game's intro sequence, iirc..

One I'd add to it would be "Street Fighter 2010": the year in which it happened of course can be easily guessed.
If you don't believe me watch the intro for yourself here:

I wonder where the Final Fantasies would land? Might be impossible, fantasy and all.
If I think of any, I'll let you know. I'm sure the AvP games have timelines.

It ends just prior to midnight on the 24th.
I do wish that Homeworld could be put onto this scale, somehow.
As for games with multiple dates, they're usually listed by their main date, with other dates in brackets.
What about the Stinko Man platformer on homestarrunner.com ? It's called 20X6 which is also when it's set. (pronounced twenty exty six)
Fine, I guess I'll post it after the 2090s. For the sake of completion.
