Lets say I don't have the money to really print DVD covers at home. I can't do it because, I first, have no printer. Second, I just don't have the right type of paper.
My question is where can I find good glossy paper and quality color printing in the same store?
Office Depot and Kinkos are two ideas I have heard but would they have problems with me bringing in a flash drive with the DVD cover on it?
They might ask a question, like "what's this for?" And then you just tell them "my cover got wrecked, so I'm printing off a new one but my printer at home sucks."
I did a ton of printing DVD covers for CD-case era games care of the CD Cover Project at Fed Ex / Kinkos when I was unifying my collection into a few DVD towers. They don't care and you can trim them yourself at the self-service station. So make sure you don't pay for trimming, they usually screw it up.
I've always wondered, what type of paper are you supposed to use when printing DVD, CD, or game inserts? I've tried glossy photo paper on my printer at home, but that's way thicker than a DVD insert and the ink sticks to the outer plastic. I'm sure it would look better when printed at a place, but I'm wondering what I would actually have to ask for, in terms of thickness and shininess (guessing those aren't the actual terms).
To be honest, when I did the CD cover project thing, I just used ordinary printer paper and a colour inkjet. Once the cover is behind the plastic you can't tell if it was printed on glossy paper or not.

Yeah, a lot of the people I design for ask for glossy paper to put behind a plastic cover. Glossy paper looses its impact when its behind a glossy transparent sheet.

As far as printing out that exact thing, I don't see why they wouldn't.
Is there also a place that shows VHS tape covers and converts them to DVD covers?
