All that means is that I'm able to set up a television better than someone with a Master's Degree

Wow, nerds calling normal people idiots. Welcome to the internet.

I am not a big exercise enthusiast, I only go to the gym a few times a week. My overall knowledge on fitness isn't great.

But if I was buying say a cross trainer for home I would be stupid to not do my research and consult with people who know more than me before plunking down a not inconsiderable amount of money then once I have it I'd read the manual to make sure it was properly installed or get the proper help.

I don't think it's unreasonable to call people who don't bother to have their HD gear set up properly idiots with more money than sense. I don't think "normal" people should get a free pass just because it's nerd gear.

Going to the gym a few times a week is probably better than 95 percent of people who common this forum. But then I suppose it also matters what exactly you do at the gym and how long you spend each day. I go 4 days a week and spend an hour each day, and on off days do jumprope, but that still doesn't really justify spending hours on PS3 and PC.

But no one buys HDTV's, and for those that do, 480p resolution is just as good as 720p!

I have to admit to not being able to see a dramatic enough difference to care.

I was under the impression that UK standard def is significantly better than US standard def. Hence HD is a much smaller jump for us and as such there is much more apathy our side of the pond.
