I remember a kinda sorta GURPS wannabe rpg called - I think! - "World Action Adventure". It was published right around the 80's. I believe it had a blue background, and the cover art almost made it look like a geography textbook. This book was memorable because of the terrible yet hilarious poem that the author had penned as an intro to his game. I think one of the lines was something like
The ballerina spins in a ring
she can sing and dance and everything.

My friends and I had a copy of the book, but it has apparently been lost in the sophmoric, melodromatic mists of time.
Anyway, I checked wikipedia, Amazon, and ebay. No mention of this book. Can anyone point me to more information on this rpg? I really just want to read the poem again, but any info on it would be great.

Here's an exerpt I found online. Hilarious!
"Through the jungle is heard the sound
of drums that only tribesmen pound
they await the heads of men like these
explorers hiding behind the trees.
"The mountain climber edged his way
he struggled strongly through the day
losing hope and unaware
an avalanche crushes him in his despair.
"The treasure chest is flung wide open
for each pirate there is a token
but greed seizes each one of them
when they cannot split the only gem.
"Darting up so very high
the airplane seems to pass the sky
falling back and out of control
the plane recovers with a roll.
"He runs to warn his fellow soldiers
to load the catapults with boulders
the enemy approaches from the rear
a thousand of them that know not fear.
"An astronaut steps into space
a wonder of the human race
he looks upon the Earth that's blue
it is his dream that has come true."
