Game Music Thread 2: Let's go round again! | STILL READ THE OP
The music thread is back for another run. The old one died a noble death, stuffed to the gills on peaceful melodies, rousing choruses and face-melting guitar riffs. This thread has been scrubbed down, brushed up, and wiped of all its memories. Tragic in a way, but it means re-posts of stuff from the old thread matter not.
The Rules:
These are very simple, and must be followed. Think of the children.
One song per game; no more than three songs per platform.
Provide links or youtube videos for every track you cite. If you can't cite then don't post it. This is not a poll thread.
If they are youtube videos, please type the song title and put the video in a spoiler below (you'll need to use url tags for it to display).
Orchestral arrangements/remixes/fan recordings are cool, but try to get ones that stay, tune-wise, faithful to the original.
Please add &fmt=18 or &hd=1 to the end of your youtube urls for (sometimes) better sound.
As before, I'm going to take the liberty of starting us off.
GBC
This is still one of my favourite vg tunes ever, ever. So it gets a repost.
Tarm Ruins is indeed really good. I remember that sometimes I'd leave my Game Boy on just to listen to the music.
The World Ends With You for the DS has a lot of really great music. Game Over (not actually a track that plays on the game over screen) might be my favorite track from the game.
I only recently discovered that a lot of the tracks that appear in the game are shorter than the versions from the soundtrack and the in-game version is missing a part that I really like.
Also, PC Adventure 2600 Reboot project as of yet to be renamed: All of it. Though since I have to pick one, Adventure!(Main Title Sequence)
(Note 1: A2600RB was the subject of a C&D which caused it to be removed. However, as the score was entirely original and took nothing from the original in any way shape or form, I as the holder of some rights(as licensed under creative commons) and sole composer of the score hold the legal authority to release the tracks for download)
(Note 2: I as the holder of some rights and the sole composer may be a bit biased towards this score)
(Note 3: Yes, it was intended to evoke the feeling of 16-bit era music)
The only song besides the opening track that instantly springs to mind when I think of the game. I love the entire soundtrack, but this one just clicks with me.
Drakengard: Twelfth Chapter Sky (Crazy concept for a soundtrack, but I think it really works. I'm pretty sure that's a boys' choir sample it cuts to at points, which in the context of that part of the game is pretty creepy.)
Last two never actually appear in the games, but where great choices for the marketing and ended up defining the games in my head at least.
Mass Effect 2 launch trailer: Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage

Borderland: No Heaven - DJ Champion
No Heaven actually played during the credits of Borderlands, so it did appear in the game.
I don't have time to go crazy like I did with the previous thread, but there are a couple I want to put in here now, and then I'll make a real post hopefully in the near future.
From SNES, Super Street Fighter II: Balrog's Theme
From Gamecube or Wii, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: Hyrule Field Theme (also fan-made on an Electone, and he adds his own little tune from Link's Awakening into it.)

Also, that'll serve me right for editing the OP. I put the '64 version in. I'll go delete that =P

EDIT: High five on Vortal Combat.
Age of Mythology (my favorite of the series)
Bioshock
My favorite of the TF2 songs

I had forgotten how epic the TA soundtrack was, damn that song above gave me chills.
Dark Void: Theme from Dark Void

For instance, we have NOLF2: clearly campy 60s music
Then we have Modern Warfare 2, a real RAH RAH moment in the game
And lastly, a song out of Mass Effect 2, setting the SHIT IS GOING DOWN mood
The only song besides the opening track that instantly springs to mind when I think of the game. I love the entire soundtrack, but this one just clicks with me.
Steam: CavilatRest
Lost Odyssey - A Mighty Enemy Appears (Boss Theme)
Bionic Commando Main Theme
There's also a piano version that plays on the main menu.

NDS: The World Ends With You - Someday
Curse you, Peewi, for beating me to mentioning this game, but goddamn I love this soundtrack.
Wii: Trauma Centre: Second Opinion - Vulnerability
Fantastic music from my favourite Wii game, it makes the endgame all the more intense.
PS2, GC, XBOX: Timesplitters: Future Perfect - Spaceport Theme
Hard to pick one, they're all so good!
I am a sucker for those jolly fun tunes, and so I naturally have to bring up my favourite iteration of the Worms theme, the one from World Party:
Final Fantasy IX
Mega Man 2
Mass Effect
Deus Ex
C&C: Read Alert 2
C&C: Red Alert 3
And finally, my random entry of
Blazblue
Oh god reinstalling...
Also, Versalife is awesome too:
Mass Effect 2 - Suicide Mission
I didn't even NOTICE as my team fell dead around me.
Rise of the Triad - Fastway
That game had such a good soundtrack.
Uncharted 2 - Nate's Theme 2.0
inFamous - Silent Melody
And for Assassins Creed 2, the go-to track is usually Enzo's Family, but I kinda like this one more.
Assassins Creed 2 - Venice Rooftops
Pretty big list here, so I'll spoiler it-
Chrono Trigger: Delightful Spekkio (I'd say that the Chrono games have pretty much the best soundtracks in gaming)
Radical Dreamers: Days of Summer
Chrono Cross: Scars of Time
Drakengard: Twelfth Chapter Sky (Crazy concept for a soundtrack, but I think it really works. I'm pretty sure that's a boys' choir sample it cuts to at points, which in the context of that part of the game is pretty creepy.)
Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits: Natural Selection (Middling game, great soundtrack - every battle theme was fantastic)
Persona 3: During the Test...
Street Fighter 3 Third Strike: KILLING MOON - Akuma Stage
Crisis Core: Moonlight Wandering (and pretty much every other Final Fantasy "muted sad track over tragic scene" theme)
Guilty Gear 2 Overture: Keep Yourself Alive 3 (there needs to be a GGX3 so that the rest of the characters' themes get this kind of treatment)
Team Fortress 2: 'Team Fortress 2'
Is good.
Love this song and perfectly timed with the Pokemon revival people are enjoying at the moment.
Steam: CavilatRest
Blazblue- Gluttony Fang
Guilty gear X2- Still in the Dark
Street Fighter 3- You blow my mind
Gonna cheat a bit and add another one.
Street Fighter 3-Beats in my head
Silent Hill 2- Theme of Laura
Silent Hill 3- Breeze- in monochrome night
Silent Hill 4- Tender Sugar
Akira Yamaoka too.
Ocarina of Time: Song of Storms
[PC]
Knights of the Temple : Main theme
[Multi]
Baldur's Gate II : Main title
[PC]
Halo 2 : High charity suite
[Xbox]

Mega Man 3: Intro
Guilty Gear X2: "Momentary Life" (Baiken's Theme)
Since that won't work, let's go with:
Halo - Rock Anthem to Save the World
Last two never actually appear in the games, but where great choices for the marketing and ended up defining the games in my head at least.
Mass Effect 2 launch trailer: Two Steps From Hell - Heart of Courage
Borderland: No Heaven - DJ Champion
And because Heart Gold and Soul Silver were released recently.
edit: two more
The Dig - Another World
Outlaws - Sanchez the Outlaw

From SNES, Super Street Fighter II: Balrog's Theme
From Wii, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars: Character Select
Apparently from Final Fantasy XII, but I'm sure you've heard this in any other FF, though I don't know it's title. Fan-made version using an Electone.
From Gamecube or Wii, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: Hyrule Field Theme (also fan-made on an Electone, and he adds his own little tune from Link's Awakening into it.)
I WILL NOT BE DOING 3DS FOR NWC THREAD. SOMEONE ELSE WILL HAVE TO TAKE OVER.
