As someone who has no idea what's gonna be really important, I recommend putting two points into Intelligence - potions seem like they're gonna be important so we might as well start gathering free stuff.
I have no clue what to do with the remaining point, though. Stamina, maybe. Or Aard.
Since I played through this game as a heavily sword-based guy, I'd recommend that you rely on magic and potions more, as I haven't seen how that sort of a character plays out. You can decide how you distribute the points.
The YouTube quality is perfect, the fonts are pretty big for me but i have a big iMac to watch it on. Maybe one advice is to talk a little more while fighting or something, just to hear what you are thinking about or whatever. I think that could be the difference between watching someone play a game or experiencing a game. Halloween always has a good style of LP's.
But still, you're doing great and the little updates are really nice to watch with a good cup-o-coffee.
Also, I say MOAR MAGIK! But the arrow dodging sounds great too. Either way
Yeah, stream of thought narration is great. Just blurb whatever comes to mind, you'll get it down in no time, and it makes following the LP quite amusing. People notice the weirdest things that the person watching may not have(or in Helloween's case, his infuriating inability to notice the obvious), and it's part of what makes listening to the player so entertaining.
And once you do, does going back to steel ever make sense?
I think I heard somewhere that steel is good against natural opponents (including humans) and silver is good against supernatural enemies, so you'll end up using both a lot.
As you can see, I carry two. Every witcher does. It's said, spitefully, the silver one is for monsters and the iron for humans. But that's wrong. As there are monsters that can be struck down only with a silver blade, so there are those for whom iron is lethal. And, Iola, not just any iron, it must come from a meteorite.
Even if we never fought a person again (and wouldn't that be nice), we'd still need the steel.
Yeah, you'll use both, as they don't cause damage very well against opponents that they haven't been designed for. Steel is sharper, so it causes more damage against natural enemies, and silver may not be as sharp but the metal's magical properties allow you to put more hurt on the unnatural critters. They also have different fighting styles, if I recall correctly, so... It's all good fun.
There's also side weapons that you can get, but they are pretty much pointless, as you can't upgrade the skills associated with them, and this means that they'll be effectively useless fairly soon into the game.
I also seem to recall that the Steel trees gives you more parrying in general while the Silver trees focus more on avoidance, since parrying with a soft silver sword is generally a poor idea :P
I can't decide either. I think he's supposed to be grabbing the tip of the sword and using the extra weight of the hilt to build up a more powerful swing, hacking with the portion of the blade near the hilt. It's just a matter of where he grips it. Unless his gloves are supposed to be magic, it seems extra far-fetched.
And yes, Triss will be appreciative. We'll be having our first bone / no bone vote soon.

Wait, at around 8:35 did Geralt just take the blade of his sword in his hands just so he could beat that guy to death with the handle?
Not actually as unrealistic as it sounds, bizarrely.
I have to say, the Polish voiceacting is pretty poor (although the subtitles do miss out on some things occasionally). Wasn't expecting anything else after seeing the movie and TV show, though.
So... wild, demonic dogs and a prophecy about the end/violent rebirth of the world.
Things are starting to look interesting.
Normally I don't care much about prophecy. Either it's inescapable, which means I can do whatever I want, or it's not, which still means I can do whatever I want. But when it's delivered personally by someone who's glowing and floating, it at least deserves my attention.

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.
You're right about the voice acting, but for some reason I still care. I feel bad for Vesemir. I like that Geralt and Triss have feelings for each other. I wanna know what the hell happened to Eskel's face. This is strange on multiple levels as I couldn't care less about the lore in World of Warcraft or most other games. My working theory is that enough of the lore matters to gameplay that it reaches critical mass.

Maybe it's Geralt's badassery?
I tend to be a story/lore-whore, so that explains why the voice-acting doesn't bother me too much. Having seen the film and TV show probably helps too, as the acting in those was worse at times.
Or maybe it's the boning.
EDIT: oooh, new videos!
That chat with the gambler was pretty cool, we actually got some vaguely ye olde Polish, and it had nice flow and voiceacting. Then the inkeeper came along and ruined it
Concerning skills, herbalism and oil preparations seem interesting, but if I'm reading the chart right, it's 3 points for one of them (right?). So go for intelligence, I guess.
OK... if I understand the chart correctly: Intelligence 1, Intelligence 2 and then Oil Preperation because I'd like to see why you were so happy about that Necrophage Oil recipe.
But if you don't have the ingredients yet, maybe it's best to replace the Oil thing with Herbalism.
Nice set. Witcher looks better than I expected. If I ever get a good computer, I'l have to give it a whirl.
So, what was that guy next to the herb merchant doing? He looked drunk, or terrified of the rain.
As for the vote, kill 'em all, I say. The humans that is. Hell, they don't pay you enough and always call you names (bonable women are exempt, of course).
For reference, I'm playing and recording on an AMD X2 5600 with a GTS 250 and 2GB of RAM. According to the PA PC Build Thread you can build a better rig for ~$600.
*goes back to check* I think he's just got a freaky face model. The guy next to him looks exactly the same.

I've been enjoying this so far. Have a friend that swore by the game when he was playing, but already have too many games to get through as it is.
