Weird Monitor Problem

I don't even know where to start trying to fix this so any help would be good.

I recently purchased a Samsung 2233BW LCD Monitor, and it seems to have a serious issue with any program running in full screen mode. Windowed, we're cool. Full screen, we'll start cool, then after a minute or so the screen goes into a garbled mess. If I alt-tab out of and back into the program it'll fix itself, for another few minutes. Repeat until screaming frustration sets in.

Sometimes it won't do it at all. Sometimes after a random amount of alt-tab fixings it'll settle down and all will be well.

I've updated the monitor, main borad and the graphics card drivers but have no idea how to proceed. Any help? Just help diagnosing the source of the problem would be good.

Sounds like your video card not the monitor.

Well dang. The problem has only cropped up since getting the monitor, but that has come along with a switch from analog to digitial signal.

I've updated the graphics card drivers. What else can i do?

    More details.

It's definately linked to 3d acceleration. In Plants Vs Zombies (where's the 3d in that?) by clicking the 3d acceleration checkbox on and off I can fix and cause the problem.

Also it's exactly 30 seconds it lasts. Every time.

Your video card is kaput. Fortunately, you can get a great card for 100-200 bucks right now.

Well cock. At least I managed to find a way to force the game that precipitated me getting around to trying to fix this into windowed mode.

No fullscreen gaming for Jam :(
