I still haven't played the first Bioshock. I own it. I could be playing it right now.
But for some reason, ehh....
Bioshock would have been a pretty great, atmospheric, scary game if it weren't for how every time you die you are instantaneously resurrected at a convenient nearby point with virtually no penalty.
Today I went to borders to buy The Girl Who Played With Fire and walked out with that plus the first two Y: The Last Man collections. That place is the devil.

I was too dumb to figure that out until I'd finished the game.
So I really should start with Blood Meridian even though I'm kind of tired of Westerns?
blood meridian is mindblowing
it's not so much a western as an anti-thematic epic of horror
antithematic?
i was reading a bit of criticism on him, and this is a common comment they make
he's often considered to resist and undermine any kind of symbolic or allegorical or metaphorical thematic reading, focusing on the physicality and brutality of human and natural events. the only underlying "theme" seems to be the failure of such representation, ie language, even thought itself, and how violence is a key element of that linguistic/conceptual failure
and also, you know, that paying money for scalps is a bad idea. that's also in there.

Heidegger is terrible, which is part of why it is so funny to me.
a bunch of tech stuff
Oh those don't count!
Poor bastards...
Foxit reader is fucking loaded with that Ask.com toolbar crap. Adobe Reader has become perfectly good with version 9.
I regret installing it. It keeps popping up with some updater bullshit, but not frequently enough for me to figure out how to disable it.
It's a single checkbox at the install.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
o_O
not really
Who the fuck installs toolbars?
That's the same reason you pick the light versions of CCleaner and Daemon Tools...
