It took me a few sessions to get through it. Even when I was winning it was by the skin of my teeth. That last boss fight especially.\

I was actually dreaming about playing this while I was asleep today, and all I've seen of the game are a few screenshots. I'm excited and a bit horrified.

AAAHHh this game rocks so damn hard.

A terrible experience at gamestop today has been completely erased by the extreme lunacy that is this game.

I'm playing on a pretty nice setup at someone elsaes house, and though a lot of stuff is low poly and blurry, once the action starts its just like holy shit mutant manta rays and f16's!!!

Anyone know if this game makes you install the 4.3 wii update that just came out? Im trying to avoid it since I have homebrew. (Though I do not pirate games, I simply play Japanese bought games with it) Also if anyone knows if it will force the update on me if I try to go online with this game. It would be much appreciated.

The game came out in Europe a while before the 4.3 update. I would be very surprised if it was included in the American version.

So, I got through stage 2, and it definitely grabs you by the testicles (or chesticles, if you're female) and takes you for a ride. I don't think it let up for a second, and the water tunnel level definitely had tons of "holy shit!" moments.

    Absolutely fantastic.

Stills really don't do this game justice, and 60 fps plus snappy controls make this the game that umbrella chronicles should have been. Definitely feels less disconnected with it not being stuck at around 30 fps.

I tried the Japanese version, quite a while ago.

I do believe that OHGODHOLYSHITWHAT is pretty much the best description one could make of this game. If it's not the best railshooter ever, it's pretty damn close. Didn't manage to get past Stage 4 that time, though. Now I will obtain it for real and get exterminat- finally beat it!

I recommended the title to a confused soccer mom. Told her it was 2 player co op similar to Mario Galaxy, and that the game's real name was Glass Soldier. That Sin and Punishment sounded edgier for the localization.

Those kids are going to be awesome gamers.

I'm loving the game, but is there a fancy way to swing the sword I'm missing? It takes a long time to switch from shooting to swinging, it seems.

Wow. Just wow. I can understand your desire to sell a game that deserves a sell. But come onnnn, the difficulty curve in S&P isnt something you unleash on a uninformed buyer.

Stage 4 is the best in the game. Who wants to don their soccer ball jetpacks and tell me otherwise?

Never had a problem just letting go of B and tapping it again; there's not much of a delay, but you need to make sure it's a quick tap. I usually use an evade and swing out of that though (shooting through evade -> swing) to take advantage of the invulnerability window.

And the prologue? I understand Treasure didn't give a shit specifically so they could throw whatever they wanted into the game, but they've actually created an interesting version of FF13. I mean it's still nonsense. But it's good nonsense.

And the conversation at that lava reactor was...weird.

    So what makes a human?

    Yeah.

Well I had my doubts about buying this. I forgot it was a Treasure game (lately I've only known them for Ikaruga), and doubted it would have such intensity and replay value. But Treasure doesn't fuck around.

Treasure makes good things that aren't dominantly 2-d shumps. Mischief Makers and Dynamite Heady for example.

You know, I think this is the best game so far this year.
Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption and Mario Galaxy 2 were all fantastic, don't get me wrong, but none of them really measures up to this as an experience. There hasn't been a shooter of this level of quality since Rez, and I think it even outclasses Treasure's own recent work.

With regards to the plot, RTFM. A whole lot of stuff will make sense that doesn't if you just go by what's in the game. It's only two pages and you'll be a hell of a lot less lost.

In Normal, I was basically 50/50 for whether I could clear a checkpoint without dying the first time from level 3 onward. Frustrating, but I love it.

And I forgot one more: Astro Boy for GBA. That was NOT a kid's title.

I just beat this (if you can call dying over and over in a Treasure game beating it), and I know I'm not done with this, or Deathsmiles, not by a long shot. Shit, Deathsmiles seems easier than this.

Also, my right thumb is in horrible, horrible pain.

But my brother's in Georgia and he wants to borrow the Wii just for Smash Brothers. I have no problem with that, but I gotta persuade him to play this. He's seen Ikaruga and Deathsmiles, and didn't want to play them. I'll send him a Youtube of mid stage play. Something with not too many lasers.
