I am sure this is more than likely old news to most here, but there is a mod that lets you run these games at resolutions up to 1900x1200.

I just tried it with PS:T on Win 7 and it is working great. Here is the link.

That is awesome. It's a shame these games aren't on GOG, Steam and such, I wouldn't mind having digital versions for when my computers stop having CD drives entirely.

Does raising the resolution on these old 2D games help? I thought that only smoothed out jaggies and enhanced textures in 3D games.

It helps so you can run the D3D windower, which lets you play Torment.

I've just started on this game myself.
This link might be useful, it's a step by step guide to getting a lot of the common community fix packs and so on applied:

I am sure there is some legal reason for it all, but I am sad that BioWare hasn't released these on some digital download service, especially PST, which is stupid expensive if you want a copy (unless you luck out).

Quick Note. This does cause the display size to jiggle during the cinematics, it seems those are locked to 800x600 so they snap to the corner of the screen. No biggie.

Compared to how great the Icewind Dale games will look now, i'd say that's a fair tradeoff. I look forward to trying this out.
