I was actually talking about two different things.
A friend of mine got a 2010 GT because he has always wanted a new GT since he drove a classic GT in high school. He told me he opted for the 2010 instead of a 2011 5.0.
When I found out they were bringing the 5.0 back I was disappointed that it didn't have a fastback or look like the 80's 5.0 Mustangs.
Long story short, I drive a bloated Sedan, softroader Mazda CX-7 and I do not belong in a topic about real cars.
Leanna has gotten in the habit of taking pictures of nice cars that she sees and sending them too me. She's got a good eye, but I think she likes Maseratis too much.

listen.
v6 mustang is a fucking girl car. just like 80's-early 2000's camaros. you see a v6 mustang of one of those model year camaros you look for the chick driving it to see if she's hot on reflex.

Yeah my car supposedly gets a max of 28MPG highway but 300HP cars aren't meant to be driven at 55 mph :P
The car in the OP's spoiler is ugly as sin, just like the current Challenger is.
Viper for life!
Nah
Arguably the Viper isn't a muscle car, either.
There's no arguing. Muscle cars have to have a back seat. The strongest, heaviest, Corvette is still a sports car.
I agree that car is ugly though. I hate the new challenger and camaro. They look so plasticky to me.
This makes no sense to me. Perhaps someone would care to enlighten me what the differences between a sports car and muscle car are?
A muscle car to me is something with little refinement and gobs of horsepower. A sports car is something dedicated to all auto performance categories at the cost of other items.
I think the Viper is both a muscle car and a sports car. A corvette ZO6 is a sports car and muscle car. A challenger is just a muscle car to me.
The back seat argument is not accurate, since it stems from a much more basic issue - a muscle car is based on a cheaper car with a smaller engine. Muscle cars started off as family sedans with a big honking V8.
Purpose-built sports cars like with Corvette and Viper are NOT muscle cars.
Musclecars are American have two doors and a back seat. An M6 or an AMG sedan is not a musclecar it's a sports sedan.
"Sport sedan" ascribes handling proficiency; "muscle car" does not. Considering many of the pioneer muscle cars were four-door sedans, I have trouble subscribing to the two door limitation.
The '68 300SEL 6.3 and the Red Pig is a muscle car to me.

the NEW nissan gtr corners so hard it made jeremy clarkson's back explode.
also; the pontiac g6 is awesome.
ALSO ALSO; one of the defining features of an american muscle car when taken from a non-american perspective like Top Gear for example is that they're very, very good at going in straight lines and are shit around corners because they're giant fucking steel rockets with goodyears on the bottom.

Which ones? Not the Camaro, Charger, Challenger, Super B, Skylark, Nova, Cutlass, or GTO.
Those aren't pioneer muscle cars. I'm talking the Olds Rocket V8, Hudson Hornet, C300, Rambler Rebel, etc.
And if you're going by a strict definition of muscle cars, pony's like the Camaro and Challenger and all of those, aren't included. The Skylark, GTO (in Le Mans trim), were all available as sedans too.

Didn't specifically say that.
Besides, don't really need an excuse to post that video.
edit: but yeah I see that now. And he's right, the v6 fbody camaro should never have been made.

The first-gen mustangs were actually stocked with an I6 the V8 was the "GT Equipment Package" option so having the entry level be a V6 isn't as much of a travesty as the V6 Camaro.
Posts
that he was talking about the 2010 models.
One day we'll all be discussing which electric motor produces the most kW per motor.
Then we'll go antiquing in Connecticut and have gay sex at the bed and breakfast we're staying at.

Yeah high horsepower V6's get pretty shitty gas mileage. I'm lucky if I average better than 22MPG on my 3.5 Nissan V6.

Except the 2011 does this
And gets 31 mpg highway.

Edit: Not being argumentative, just clarifying.
Depends who you ask.
Some will say yes. Others will say no, saying that muscle cars need to have V8s and be rear wheel drive.
Since I know it's possible to convert a Focus to a V8 rear wheel drive car and people DON'T call them Muscle cars, I'm going to go with no.
A number of German cars make great cases to be considered muscle cars, namely the AMG sedans.
edit: And yes, V8 and RWD is a given.
Hyundai is getting close with the Genesis. All it needs in the V8 in place of the V6.
and turning it into this:

I'm in love.
I really miss my white '77 Firebird Esprit. It too had blue stripes. And non-leaky t-tops. I'm sad now.
I seriously love that car so much.

I'd also one day like to own a '55 Lincoln Continental with suicide doors.
