Yeah, I was really excited when I saw that it was coming so soon. Wasn't expecting it 'til late August. Definitely playing this at 1am with all the lights off.
Er, since when is this supposed to be a horror game?
Creepy and atmospheric rather then horror I'd say. Though that giant spider will be enough to place it firmly in the horror category for a lot of folks!

Often horror fans dive into a video game made for their genre expecting flickering lights, pouncing monsters, gratuitous red stuff splattered across the landscape and a series of options for violently dispatching anything you come across. Limbo does things a bit differently.
Instead of the usual fare Playdead Studios has embraced the deep shadows and chilling atmosphere of our classic silver screen gems to create a thoroughly unique puzzle-platforming adventure.
In Limbo you control a young boy who braves a cold, hostile world to discover the fate of his sister. We're sure said fate isn't exactly a happy one either

From the footage I've seen way back then, I'd Jam Warrior has it right. If you really believe this game will outright frighten or scare you, I think you could be disappointed.
If it changes anyone's opinion of the game, I should say that I met the producer from Playdead at PAX, and have been in touch with him via email recently too, and he is one of the friendliest people I've met in the games industry.

Ask him nicely to do a pc release so I can actually give the developers money?
Just got my Game Informer... Limbo got a 9 and tied for game of the month. "... I was so engrossed in the experience that it felt jarring to be pulled out [when interrupted by someone in the office]". Very positive review. The only negative thing he talks about is the length. First run through is 5 or 6 hours long, but it has challenging achievements that will reward subsequent playthroughs.
A bit short for 1200 points... but I'm planning on getting 3 of the summer games, so I'll mentally apply the 400 rebate to this game. 800 points is a bit easier to swallow.

Ive paid 60 dollars for games that took 6 hours to beat. I can deal with 15 I think.

This right here.
IGN will do it and gig the graphics.

Why wouldn't I, exactly? It's not supposed to be creepy or anything, it seems
And even if it is, the best games can do this with the lights on, like Silent Hill.

That, and I don't have a 360 yet.

I'm not stupid. I know those aren't branches in the first screenshot in the OP.
Not branches at all.
Unfortunately that means although this looks great, I'll have to avoid it like the fucking plague.

I wouldn't have called it horror though. I guess it had a few scares.
That said, this still looks amazing, but I'll be putting it off due to finances and simply because, other games got in line first :P
It can be a constant sense of dread, foreboding, and creepiness
Atmosphere makes horror more than scares
I don't know whether you want to call that horror or not, and I don't really know that it matters much.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Has anyone had/seen any hands on time with this? Do we know how challenging (or not) it is? Do you die and run out of lives or just get knocked back?
Awesome, it comes out on my birthday!
Now I know what I'll be spending some of my birthday money on.
If you die, there is generally a checkpoint just before you die. No lives system, just trial and error.
The challenge was I'd say about 70% puzzle solving 30% platforming.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. It's why I loved 'Splosion Man so much.

Their loss.
but it's got to come out on PC at some time. There's still a market there.
Please?
