Man I thought this was the conclusion of OMIT so why does it have another conclusion to come?

Lolz, just after my fiancee was nearly brutally murdered I went to see Strange and I considered shaving his eyebrows off, ain't I quirky. Its not as bad as the last 2 but its not a huge improvement. Plus Kingpin sending ONE guy to finish off an entire genetic line? That was never going to end well.

    I really don't understand Strange's logic that
Reed and Tony are part of the cause of Peter Parker's misfortunes with his identity. Especially Reed. Really passing the blame there.

You're asking for logic from this particular arc?
All I can imagine is that because Reed was on the Pro-Reg side and so was Stark.

If that story is supposed to be set in the same timeframe as Back in Black, then Quesada did a really bad job of keeping the tone and characterization consistent with that story. That is in addition to utterly undermining the ending, of course.

It takes place after May was shot and Peter went and beat up the Kingpin in prison. If anything it just seems to emphasise how little thought Parker put into unmasking.

I love how Kingpin's reaction to being told, "If my Aunt May dies, I'm going to come back and kill you," is to try and have even more of Parker's family members killed.

    The saddest part was that

An innocent dog was killed while MJ ran away from the hitman. Poor doggie.

I wish Marvel would switch to a magazine format, or at least support that format. I would totally pay $20 if all of that week's issues were lumped into one magazine. That way, I could read my favorites, and also sample others as I chose.

That was one thing I liked about Heavy Metal. Sure, most of the stories were hit or miss. But it was those hits that kept me reading each month, and helped me tolerate the misses. That, and the porn.

    Whole Uncanny X-Men ish.

The art is just horrible, and apparently when Fraction's writing her, one of Frost's defining traits is saying 'darling' a lot.

The new status quo of the overall X-Men line and the apparent mediocrity of the new streamlined X-Men series means I can stay away from almost all of those books for awhile.

    W00T.

The exception will be Jason Aaron's Wolverine, which I'll read in trade.

But I guess none of that is really bitching, huh?

    Lets see here...

Secret Avengers was just stupid. We still only have the vaguest idea what the hell is going on, Nova was completely wasted in the arc (seriously, it could have been anyone in the role of schmuck and now he's going away), we're clueless how the crown got to mars in the first place.

Fuck it. I'm not going to wait till issue 24 rolls out to get some answers.

Then theres issue 24 of hulk. While I can understand how loeb was trying to provide dual perspective and didn't want his [strike]penis[/strike] chararacter to go out like a bitch, the fact that Ross still has that child molester leer stuck on his face by the end of it, that he hasn't lost an ounce of pride for all of his inane bullshit is fucking galling as hell.

Yes but a shit mystery you just want to uncover and get past, whereas a good mystery you will wait for. Wiating twenty issues to see what the fuck happens when you don't really care that much anyway.

Wait, how the hell does that even pan out? Cause unless the singles were five bucks each, they are seriously screwing the trade waiters.

Which I guess is maybe their intention, but damn. And I heard so many good things about that run.

Actually the first Wolverine: Weapon X trade is 5 issues plus both Jason Aaron stories from Wolverine #73 and 74 so thats about 6 issues. The second trade is only 5 issues though.

Since each issue was 4 dollars, the second trade about evens out.

Listen, I went through this shit with hulk, I'm not going to buy 12 issues of a comic so that I can grasp the basics of the storyline down pat.

Right now I only have the vaguest idea what the hell is going on. After completeling a 4 issue arc I'm of the mind that I should have a much better grasp of the team and there purpose.

Wait, you're complaining that you bought 12 issues of the JEPH LOEB WRITTEN Hulk title, and that there wasn't much resolution at the end? And you're comparing that to giving Ed Brubaker 12 issues to explain a story?

I think it was Tex who mentioned the Red Hulk shout-out in AA. That was kinda distracting to, like fighting Rulk is a big achievement compared to the raging, infinite-strength Hulk. It does seem like it is just trying to validate Rulks existence in the grander scheme before his unwanted Avengers joining.

EDIT: Short of appearing on TV when he tried to take the Presidency does anyone outside of Hulk even know who he is?

Hulk to me has always seemed like the penultimate challenge. If you can survive a fight with the Hulk relatively intact, that is an accomplishment. The Hulk has always been a nice barometer, and he's been around for a while. But Hulk is too new, and in my mind has only existed in Jeph Loeb's little universe. Maybe when this whole World War Hulks/Fall of the Hulks/whatever fiasco is over, I might take the time to read the Jeff Parker portions if they steer clear of Loeb.

Right now, I have an excuse for plausible deniability of Hulk. Don't spoil it for me by forcing him into my face.

I mean the general populace. Everyone knows who the Hulk is but apart from Rulk beating up most major heroes, is he really well known enough that name-dropping him to a radioactive, chinese teenage will draw a response? Surely anyone who HAS seen him just thinks its the Hulk anyway.

Ugh, Hulk 24 was terrible, it had potential to be good but just terrible.

It had moments like She Hulk bitch-punching Betty but then Banner gets involved and THREATENS his cousin to stop kicking She Rulk's ass. Then, as someone mentioned, it ends with Rulk's pedo-grin after his royal beat-down and of course Banner just reaffirming Loeb's pet character by declaring him the 2nd strongest of all.

Fun fact? The plan was to make it so Rulk can NEVER be Ross again.

Yes he has to stay Rulk forever lest be tried for treason since Ross is meant to be dead. Rulk, 24/7. I hope someone with a hefty sack comes around and humbles that goosebag before killing him off completely.

And no TLB there is nothing that can be done to make him worthwhile, we have a Hulk already.

EDIT: Although reading the back page it seems like Joe Q was the one who said "Lets try a Red Hulk"

Yeah, that seemed like bad characterisation, that was literally just Banner as the Hulk, Green Scar is not Banner as the Hulk.

EDIT: And it really may be time for Betty Ross to just be written out, when was the last time they were actually together? Hes been off in space, then WWH, then depowered and hanging out with Skaar. Thats a terrible, terrible relationship, I don't get how they're meant to feel anything for each other anymore.

EDIT 2 EDIT HARDER: This also hopefully means the end of Audrey Loeb's terrible back up 'joke' comics.

All I know is in IH he was the Green Scar, Banner himself says that GS is what he thought he would become. Theres no reason for Banner to have control so its just a Loebism for the sake of Ross and Banner hammering out their old issues.

Honestly, Green Scar (pre-Loeb) seems most like Maestro. If they played up Green Scar as a precursor to him becoming the Maestro, I think that would be awesome.

When does Loeb stop writing Hulk? Is it when Hiro-Kal, his other son, arrives on Earth? I want to know when its safe to return. I think I also need a guide for reading the non-Loeb storylines. I picked up some of Pak(?)'s run in which he portrays Banner as a super scientist trying to bond with his son Skaar.
