[D&D D&D 4E PbP] Debate and Discourse and Dungeons and Dragons (OOC)
When I get home I'm going to go over my inventory and see if there is anything else useful I could get and reasonably have in the dungeon where we start.
potions seem like a good idea.
Maybe more ale.....or extra axes.......

Okay, it was brought to my attention that my stats may not have been legal as I used the auto-roll in Character Builder instead of the points system... so reroll of Arian:
I was checking your character sheet, and I couldn't find Sonnlinor's Hammer in the Player's Handbook 1, 2, or Divine Power....where does it come from?
Also, don't you want a holy symbol?
I could use some guidance there. I couldn't find where a holy symbol would be better with the powers I've chosen than a +1 magic weapon. I don't know if it's due to the fact that I'm playing a Battle Cleric build, maybe that's it.
As for Sonnlinor's Hammer:
It's from Dragon Magazine, apparently, I honestly didn't look at that. Hope it's okay. Character Builder has a huge database (even the free version).
Also, for the token, I'm having difficulty... mostly it's a combination of having no artistic talent myself and not being able to find a white-haired elf that's not a drow... this is the best I could find:
If someone can do better, or knows a better place to look than GIS, I'm open to suggestions.
so when you say we get magic items..do you mean two of anything from the shop list and just ADD it instead of buy it?
Also, all the potions I see are level 4 and up..does that matter as far as usage? I'm noob confused.
You can pick any level 1 magic item you want, any level 2 magic item you want, and then you can buy whatever other stuff you can afford.
And as far as I know, the level of the potions doesn't affect usage, just cost and intended power. Again, I'm new to this, though.
From what I understand, the "levels" of items are just a way to classify like power levels. So, level 1 is a bare +1 item, level 2 is +1 plus an effect, etc. The cost is also determined by the level.

Oh, guys, make sure you equip your weapons and armor in the SHOP tab in Character Builder so the magic items stats and damage tables are calculated properly.
it says on the side Dragon Breath Fire, I picked that. And I went with the suggested attributes...
Right, I totally just ignored that :P. Fire breath it is.
As far as your stats go, you'd be way better off with those stats if you took, like Holy Strike and Valiant Strike instead of Bolstering Strike and Enfeebling Strike, the former two are based off of Strength while the later two are based off of Charisma. Then take something like Piercing Smite or Radiant Smite over Shielding Smite.

Alright basic character concept I can posts stats tomorrow
Adrian Arnassas - 22 year old male human swarm druid (primal power I)
Adrian was born and raised in a small but influencial guild of beekeepers. No ordinary apiarists, these keepers raised a select and rare type of magical bee whose honey produced visions of the future in whomever consumed it. The bees however were extremely intelligent and quite vicious, and as a result they were terribly difficult to raise and control. Adrian was a capable bee keeper and seemed content to marry an outsider and possibly create his own apiary, but after a moment of carelessness he stepped into several hives without the proper defensive charms in place. As a result the bees swarmed him and stung him hundreds of times, all over his body.
The Temporus Bee, as it is known, produces a venom that is both highly toxic and extremely unpredictable. In Adrian's case the poison seemed to tear down and rebuild his body and soul. The nature and knowledge of the Temporus Bee was imprinted on the hapless Adrian, and the swarm's history was made clear to him. The intricate connection of the hive to the rest of nature was revealed to Adrian, and ever since he has been able to understand and manipulate the natural forces around him. The young druid is able to direct swarms of vile and powerful insects to demolish those that stand in his way. He has an especially intricate connection with insects, but his accident left his skin badly deformed. As a result he tends to cover all but his eyes with hide armor.
Adrian found the guild's treatment of the hive to be grotesque but left them to their own devices. Whereas most druids are often ancient wise, Adrian is still quite young and impulsive. He has not lost his desire to be among his kind unlike most of those that turn to the wild. To further this end he searches for a cure to his badly scarred skin, or perhaps a means to further understand his newfound natural connection.
Especially observant characters may notice that bloodsucking insects and flies do not bother the party while Adrian is a member.
Peanut Comment: I don't believe you can have more than one ability below 10 (ie- lowering abilities to gain more stat points like you used to be able to do in 3.5). The initial stat array to spend 22 points on is: 8 10 10 10 10 10, so having both STR and CHA below 10 would not fit this.
Yea, the CB shows your current stats as houseruled rather than legal. Though I'm wondering why one of those isn't above 10 to begin with. Since humans get one ability to boost +2 through racial, this means that you could have an allotment (with a standard 22 point buy) of:
9
17
10
10
16 (+2) = 18
10
And be perfectly legal (or go the other way with 11 STR and 8 CHA).

Heh, I tried to fix it but I still left it screwed up.
I'm going to try to do it over again. I realized that there is the +2 like you mentioned.
We can start very soon. I'll probably have the IC thread up by tomorrow afternoon. However I am going to be gone this weekend for my sister's baby shower, so we'll start and you guys will get some playing in but then there'll be a hiatus.
Cass hasn't checked in for a while, though, hopefully she's still with us.

You dumped in Strength but all your attacks except your daily are Charisma based.
Also, do you want poison, fire, lightning, cold, or acid breath?

if winky approves I am ready. I can't really write my character description up right now (too tired honestly) but there is my sheet.

Heh, I tried to fix it but I still left it screwed up.
I'm going to try to do it over again. I realized that there is the +2 like you mentioned.
EDIT:
And Eddy I sent you an e-mail with your fixed stats. It should be all kosher now.
Now we have a rogue to poke people, a paladin to smash people, a druid to sting people, and two warriors to slash and chop people.

You are a very melee-based and defensive group.
This means that I'm going to be making fights that consist entirely of controllers and artillery.
You'll never even get to hit one.
Why do you think I bought extra handaxes?
So i can throw them!

Cass hasn't checked in for a while, though, hopefully she's still with us.

Oh yeah.
You can..
uhh...
heal people? Is that right?

I heal by bashing their heads in!
Awesome!

She's all blowing on some other guy.
The light in the rooms is actually emanating from the mirrors.
Also, do you think Ludious would be very mad if I just shoved him into the room just so I can move on?
EDIT: Well, nevermind that.
