You should have a quest called 'some like it hot', assuming you're in ul'dak or whatever it is called. After you do a leve or two I think it continues that chain. On a side note, don't try to attack the cactuars. They hit for 4500.

I'm kind of at a loss for what to do. Did the first set of leves, the first quest, and everything I can find is either a super easy kill or crushes my spine. Any suggestions?

Couple pages back, but I'm in a similar spot, and would like to know. Done the starter quest, all the Battlelevies I could get for the first area outside of Ul'dan (dunno the name), and am now at a lost at what it expects me to do next...

Check your journal for what the next part of "Some Like It Hot" (if you haven't already done the complete line, which I haven't so I'm not sure how long it goes) entails. Several of the steps don't bother to tell you what to do for the next part (or hint at it extremely subtly) save for a journal entry.

I guess I should have said that by "Starter Quest" I meant I've done all of Some Like It Hot, the gladiator match, the emoting at the miner's guild, escorting the catgirl, visited the alchemist's guild, and back to the Quicksand, so now it's listed as a completed quest (or at least, what I'm 99% will be the "Completed Quest" List once they put in the english translation for it) and I have nothing new in the active quest folder.

Joe, grab the guildleve quests for drybone. To get there, just follow the road north, then east. It is past the big ants, you'll see stronger squirrels and dodos and stuff there. Not melt your face off like half the monsters in the first area, but stronger than the weak things you've been fighting.

I got that, and who's Joe?

EDIT: And by lvl 8, do you mean physical level, or class Rank?

    Grundlestiltskin - Kaeru Hojzha

Please spell your in-game name correctly.

Sorry, too many consanants and I got confused. It's Kaeru Hojza.

Not that it matters, since neither updating the drivers nor running as admin seems to be fixing my crashing issue. I'm now Gladiator rank 3 from fighting the same 3 Bloodthirsty Wolves like 5 times.

I really need to stop testing how strong various monsters are. After I found out the crystal crab things tend to have low hp so you can kill them when they're stronger, I keep trying things that are just a taaad too strong. As in they tend to do 3-4x my total hp in 1 hit.

I'd love a legitimate con system in this game

How large are the installation files after H2010.08.30.2000? It's saying I'm at file 1/7 and going at anywhere from 100kbps to 250kbps, so I have about 3 hours to go.
(my connection can only handle 300kbps so there's no point seeking an alternative)

Did you do anything special to get those kinds of speeds out of the downloader? Mine usually hovers between 0.0 and 15 kb/s, occasionally spiking up to 50 for a few seconds. I've opened the required ports, turned off windows firewall, and disabled my antivirus. I'm not sure what more I could do to make my computer more open to the download.

Would it be worth it to hook my computer directly to the modem? What I mean is, would it be worth pissing off my wife to hook it up that way, in order to gain more download speed?

I've got all the stuff downloaded, but actually patching up this thing is ridiculously slow. Like less than 1% per minute, and it just about locks up everything on my computer. Like the little clock gadget freezes up for minutes at a time, I can barely run a web browser, etc. I'm running Win7-64, i7 @ 3.4GHz. Any idea what's causing this/how to fix?

Starting as a crafter or gatherer works just fine, though it's weaker for switching to a combat profession later, since armor has an afinity for certain classes now. I lose about 30 defense wearing my botonist armor as a pugilist. But I'm working on crafting myself some armor so I'm not concerned. Plus botanist armor favors marauders, and I'm leveling that too. I guess it makes sense, they both use axes.
