No. We've all agreed that it is going to have a nice life on DVD and we are happy.

Really don't like seeing films in 3D. I mean like Avatar was ground-up 3D and not the gimmicky kind but just taking any old film and making it 3D is rubbish and gimmick 3D movies are just as bad.

I think besides Avatar the only really interesting use of 3D I've seen is Day & Night, the short before Toy Story 3

I saw it again in 2D and the audience was just bored by it

I thought it was weaker than a lot of their shorts but I suppose younger audiences might appreciate it more?

I didn't see Toy Story 3 in 3D deliberately, because while Up's presentation wasn't bad persay, I watched it on DVD recently and the colors were just so much more vibrant in 2D. Ebert really was right about the color washing out.

Yeah I really prefer Pixar films in 2D, if only so that you can see background details better. Some theaters' 3D does darken all the colors, I don't know if all 3D technology is like that, though.

Day & Night was just really interesting, visually in 3D. It really pulls you in. I'm queer for animation and love seeing new things being done with it though, so I'm bias

There was always hope, but it'll do fine in the coming weeks and rock on DVD.

are people really surprised this didn't do well

Kind of a bummer considering how super over saturated the ad campaign was, though

I love the movie and all but I hated having to sit through that

Shaun of the Dead made $3.3 million in 607 theaters in its opening weekend. Hot Fuzz made $5.8 million in 825 theaters in its opening weekend. Both of these movies were made with £12 million. They grossed around $110 million combined.

Scott Pilgrim made $10.5 million in 2800 theaters. Wiki and some articles are quoting different numbers for Scott Pilgrim's budget. $60-90 million. Hopefully Scott Pilgrim does better next week. I do think it will sell well on video, though.

I'm really hoping the flick at least does well enough to stay in theaters two more weeks because I couldn't go this weekend and next weekend isn't looking good either. Finding a babysitter can be a pain in the butt.

Actually, would the flick be inappropriate for a kid? It's music and fighting and a bit of romance - I wonder if I could just bring him to it...heck he's a nerd too and would get quite a few of the gaming references. I can't imagine it would be a packed house on a matinee in Maine.

They do talk about sex a few times, but there isn't MUCH cursing and the violence is pretty stylized soooo

Well look at it from the perspective of a gay man

I wouldn't want to flirt with someone who looks like Michael Cera either

Going to go see this today finally. I really looking forward to seeing how Cera is in it since forumers keep saying he is fine in it. I love the guy but after reading SP after seeing the first trailer I was then very confused cause Pilgrim sounds like a more not Cera guy.

Also I want see the girl who plays Pilgrims sister.
