Ruminations Concerning the Infant ‘Science’ of D&D Phylo[Chat]ic-Taxonomy:
You can tell by the OP that Dynagrip doesn't hang out here as often as he used to, because you guys think Will and I are the most judgmental chat regulars. :P
The original game was born because you and Will were arguing over whether Justinsane07 was a townie if I remember right.
Only a male geek could be so obsessed about an RPG like Elendil is about Disgaea. If he were a chick he'd just dress up like the characters not get level Fucking-Hell because he played it so much.

hmmm, kind of sucks to burn up vacation time because i have to wait around while the gas leak in my apartment gets repaired. i guess i didn't have to stay here but i don't really like the thought of strangers roaming around here.
Itunes doesn't bother me because I only use it to manage the music. I buy stuff from Amazon or directly from bands that don't use drm.
DK, last I heard Apple struck a deal to make some music non drm. That's why they changed to the non-standard pricing system. Did this change again and now everything's drm free?
I'm not sure why people still cite iTunes DRM. It has been nearly 2 years since the complete changeover and even longer since the majority was without protection.

Man. I don't really hate Apple, but everything they offer I can find a better alternative to.
I can build a cheaper PC that's just as good, and there's pretty much no worry whether software I want is available on it whereas on a Mac I'd have to go and run Windows on it which is just a layer of bullshit I don't care to deal with.
iTunes feels slow to load up and bloaty, not to mention the DRM on iTunes sales. Synchronzing an iPod just sounds like tedious bullshit when I can take any old mp3 player and just copy all my music to it.
I think maybe the only thing Apple offers that interests me is the iPod Touch since it's got all the games the iPhone does without the retarded data plan Rogers seems to want you to go with if you buy it on contract.
There's a lot wrong here but I don't want to preach at you.
Building your own PC is cheaper, buying a Mac is much prettier, more sturdy, and carries a batter warranty with better tech support. You also get to run Mac OS X with is fantastic, though it does take some getting used to coming off Windows. It does things differently.
iTunes is slow and bloaty and a piece of shit... on Windows. In Mac OS X, its native environment, it's great. iTunes does not have any DRM on any music sales. I think the TV stuff does still. Syncing vs loading music manually takes another conceptual leap. But when you get used to it and you can tell give your player a few rules, plug it in and go, it's amazing. Your music is a database, not a collection of files. After a while, manual loading feels like the most archaic, stupid thing in the world.
The iPod touch is nice, but after a while you'll be wishing it was a phone too. Almost everyone I know who has one feels this way. It's basically a product designed to take your money and sell you on the iPhone.
Edit: Whoops, I preached at you. I'm sorry, it just spilled out. How embarrassing and unsightly. Just, uh, look away and move on.
Oh yeah, Macs are great for certain things, but some things I just plain dislike.
Mac OS X is an operating system I've learned to use, partially because Cass used to own one and also because I took a film class in which we had to become familiar with them. I just plain do not like using the OS at all. Everything about it feels clumsy to me compared to what I'm used to with the taskbar, especially the dock. It just doesn't feel comfortable to me at all.
The video editing and image editing software is pretty good, but I don't have much interest in either of those things in the long term anymore and even when I did I much preferred using Photoshop on Windows. I'll take GIMP over something that's almost $500 minimum for my limited needs, anyway.
And I really like the feeling of taking apart my PC and replacing parts quickly and easily. If I get a new computer, any of the good stuff I've got with this one I can more than likely move over.
As for the iPhone, I just would want the Touch just because I've got a Blackberry Curve I like a lot for the tactile feeling of hitting each key. I already have what I want in a phone and the iPhone is retarded expensive for me both from a hardware perspective and the cost of getting a voice and data plan that I'd pretty much need to go with because of the shitty mobile provider here. I blame Rogers for that one, though.

Elendil doesnt strike me as the person here who is most obssessed about Disgaea. I'm not even sure top 3.

Like the maxed out majin with the super robot stuff and whatnot? I thought that was someone else. Like cj_iwakura. And Houk, he used to work at the damn place that made the games.

Science takes time.
Sorry, I didn't know.
That's it! You're awesome.
I want to learn to play the bass so I was thinking of getting one of those.
Then I realized they're about $2000, which makes it unlikely that it's the borrowed Bass that Scott's been using this whole time.
I think you underestimate just how cool Elendil is.

no worries, brosef
You probably want a cheaper guitar first just in case this learning to play thing is just a phase...
