Ipod Accessory advice (semi-urgent)

So my girl's birthday is on Sunday and I decided to get her and I a couple of matching ipods :) Its great because its as much a present for her as it is for me.
Anyway, the biggest reason she wants one is so she can get rid of all the cds she has drifting around her car and finaly have all her music in one place. So I want to get her something for her car but I'm having trouble figuring out what's best. I'd like to get her a dock that just attaches to her dash so she can just get in her car, put it in the dock and go, but I'd also like it to charge and I can't figure out what the best way to go is as far as ipod to car interface is concerned. I've heard that most people perfer the tap adapters sinceits a more direct connection, but I can't find a dock that has that built in. I've found some with the FM transmitters, but I hear those aren't always the best, and even though we're not in a high radio traffic area, I'd rather she just had something reliable. So does anyone know of any docks that you can just wire right into your car stereo? Or does anyone know of an FM transmitter that's better than others? Or a dock with the tape adapter built right in? This is something I need by Sunday.
thanks guys.

There are plenty of docks that have line-out jacks. You can buy one of those and a seperate tape adapter.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

so you mean the adapter plugs into the dock instead of the ipod? so you just have to through the ipod in the dock instead of plugging in the adapter seperately?

    Yep.
Belkins and DLOs both have that feature. You won't have to dick around with cables getting in/out of the car.

    Before this thread is locked:

How is that Remote? I've got a buddy looking to get rid of his ipod stuff (I'd explain why, but...meh). Worth around the 20 he's asking?
