i have a pair of these http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V6-Monitor-Headphones-Voice/dp/B00001WRSJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286805018&sr=8-1 at home
but i dont wanna bring headphones to and from the office
i am looking for something that is comfy on your head for long periods of time and doesnt let sound fly everywhere
i could get another pair of the same
i could get something cheap and comfy and keep the ones i have at home at home
or i could get something more expensive and keep those at home and bring the sonys to work
For the office: I have a pair of these, and they sound pretty good and are very light and comfortable. They also have a pretty decent length cord. You can't really beat the price.
The short version: gigantic open-air headphones, 10 FT cord, really comfy.
Long version / caveats:
- They're open-air, so if you listen to anything hearing-damage level loud, anyone close by will hear it too. I've not found it to be a liability at work (my nearby coworkers say they can't hear it), but I have space / cube walls between others and myself.
- The spring-loaded armature on top is best suited for folks with slightly larger heads. It's really comfortable, but you might find it too loose fitting if you have a smaller head. Unfortunately, I don't wear hats, so I can't give you anything to compare with in that department. Google around for a review for other thoughts on that one. The first Amazon review covers most of what I think about them.
They're about the price of your current at-home pair, so it depends on what you're willing to spend, I guess.

i wonder if the warranty will properly cover these old earbud headphones
no harm trying i guess, but is wear and tear covered by warranties usually?
