A Song of Ice and Fire: The pilot is so close you can taste the incest.
I like the actor they got for Tyrion, especially that close up photo of his face.
he was the only choice.
these pictures are awesome.
jaime and cersei don't look enough alike for me, I imagined Jaime blonder. sort of like raphael from soul calibur was what was in my head I think. and a natural blonde for cersei would have been nice, though i do love lena headey (she just looks so much better with her natural hair color). both are missing their green eyes.
generally the hair is a lot curlier than I expected--jon's in particular. he is rocking the jewfro. so is sean bean --and I expected darker brown almost black hair on all the starks.
I think Tyrion is missing his heterochromia. otherwise literally perfect casting. I imagined Tyrion a bit rounder in the face maybe, but in my imaginary cast it was always peter dinklage (probably because I don't know enough little people actors?). he'd also be a really good doctor psycho in any future wonder woman movie...
dany looks like jane of the jungle. what IS that outfit. and she looks much older than I expected. something like a 25 year old playing an 18 year old who is actually 14 in the books? I think emilia clarke's age is unknown (not on imdb anyway)
I'll just say it: Catelyn looks much older than I expected. I thought she would be prettier and younger. i expected a contemporary of cersei. but maybe I'm just shallow.

It is freaky how much Jaime looks like the Jaime in my mind.
Freaky.

I thought the Starks would have straight hair and long, thin faces.
Michelle Fairley does seem a bit old to be Catelyn, I thought she was supposed to be in her mid thirties? Since they're making most of the kids older I guess it works.
Turns out my cousin, on his eurotrip, came across the guys doing shoots and practicing swordfights. They hung around looking to be extras, but no one asked them.
Those images are great. Not necessarily how I pictured it but great nontheless.
Also it is beyond me how anyone could want to get with that poisonous bitch Cersei. Yes she is attractive, but honestly, in every other way she is just a horrendous person, and she's not even good at it.

Isn't Tyrion supposed to have a hump? I imagined him much uglier and deformed.

I'd imagine him being born a little person and the scar across his face were enough distinguishing factors for the character in a live action television show format. Any more and Tyrion might come across as Quasimodo or as a Bond villain, like that Le Chiff dude from Casino Royale.... facial scar AND he cried blood. I expect some liberties to be taken with characters when translating them to a different media, as long as his personality comes across the same I'm all for it.
This TV series is shaping up to be awesome as get all hell. Can't wait til it premieres!
Why does Dany have white hair and black eyebrows? That looks weird as shit.
On Caucasian faces, if you bleach eyebrows to the same level, they basically disappear. Not sure why they didn't go a few shades lighter, but there's a reason they're not platinum.
Cersei's eyebrows are darker too, if you look at her image.
I thought the same thing, Tyrion looks so out of place.
I don't want to sound alarmist, but I hope they try and keep the show authentic and of high quality. I don't want to see any Dungeons and Dragons shit in here, fuck that movie.
Her outfit is kind of supposed to be stupid though isn't it? I imagine she'll be in various finery until Drogo gets his mits on her and then she'll have to dress like Ayla from Chrono Trigger until

after he dies
Yeah, her brother was basically shopping around for a powerful man to sell her off to, it's not like she's going to be in classy outfits.
The problem with Dany is she's not naive in regards to how the world works EXCEPT her family, which she sees as some golden fairy king and queens. When literally she is descended from the worst king we've see thus far.
Isn't that the point, though? Every character in the story has at least one major character flaw. I'd say hers is the inability to think rationally about how terrible the reign of her family really was.
Well, Selmy does clue her on some of the bad crap, but he focuses more on her brother and focuses on the not-insane stuff Aerys does because both of them don't want to hear it.

Uh, by the end of Storm Dany has started to learn of all about her families legacy of brilliance/madness. To the point she worries which side of the line she falls on.
She worries but still continues her murderous rampage.
She's been murdering slavers. How is that bad, and why would some of her family members having been crazy in the past have any bearing on it?
Edit: Also, I don't have my copy of Storm of Swords at hand. How much has she been told about what her father did? I was under the impression that she still had no reason to think that the Barratheons were anything but power hungry traitors who were still trying to have her assassinated.
She is a lot different than Robert, Robert saved a nation from an insane monarch. Dany wants to steal the throne because it is hers because she says so.

And because the people that are on it have been trying to kill her for her entire life.

No Selmy gives her a very whitewashed truth and then implies there is worse, but she doesn't pursue it.

Robert asked him to repeal the assassination attempts on Daeny as he was dying, but Ned fucked up a bunch of times because he wouldn't go against his honor and either A) team up with Renly or keep his fucking mouth shut and not tell Cersei to her face he was going to reveal she was a brothahumpa and her kids were incestbabies.

I think if given the choice of the show starting tomorrow or Dance being released, I'd go for the show

Also, hell yeah these pictures look good--except for that weird one with Tyrion.
Why the fuck isn't the Blackfish a POV character yet?
I look forward to looking on Dany with contempt throughout the entire show

That's rightfully hers. And, even if one were to make the argument that it's not, she's no different from Robert Baratheon or Aegon the Conqueror.
And because the people that are on it have been trying to kill her for her entire life.
No Selmy gives her a very whitewashed truth and then implies there is worse, but she doesn't pursue it.
Also Selmy is still a righteous douche.
Yet another thing Ned's honor fucked up.
