Thank you Jon for all the good times hosted!

Man it makes me kind of sad, last night I hung around a bit but all the PA joints were empty. I had always expected that though I took a break from the game, I'd be able to reliably return for those swell matches. I suppose it lasted for three years, but didn't PA CS: S last longer than that?

I tried a couple pubs but got tired of constantly muting people spamming mics, or else got tired of blacklisting phony population and anti-gravity servers. So I played some New Vegas and Deathspank instead. Single player games are where it's at, friends, you can return to them regardless of their overall popularity!

RIP TF2, you were a good bro!

Update-play never really felt like the same experience. You either get 90% of players choosing one class, or a 24/7 loop of the freshest map/gamemode, or just farming for gifts or whatever like during the holiday ones. Not that I'm criticizing that activity, but it seems like that's what the bursts of popularity are.

I mourn for the days when everyone would just pick their favourite class, and suffer through tc_hydro because it came up in the rotation. I'm being a whiny old timer I guess.

I've been playing on the iO Gaming servers a lot lately - usually pretty good population at the times I normally play. Community hasn't been too bad either.

Plus they have two 24/7 instaspawn 32 man 2fort servers. :winky:

Shameful, Buttcleft. You can't even choose the largest Jesus statue in the world with which to honor Jon's, only the second largest.
WARSAW, Poland -- Roman Catholic priests consecrated what local officials claim is the world's largest statue of Jesus Christ in the presence of hundreds of Polish faithful on Sunday.

    ...

The statue itself is 108 feet (33 meters) high - one meter for every year Jesus lived. A golden crown adds two more meters, while a huge mound it sits on takes the whole height to just over 167 feet (51 meters).

Rio's statue is 125 feet (38 meters) tall.

It doesn't really matter, the game has been in need of a new game mode to freshen it up for awhile now. KOTH was not that game mode, nor was PLR. The addition of new items helped for a bit but it just isn't cutting it anymore for me.

You're all baby-man whiners. No one idles anymore, idling doesn't really do anything. Want to kill mans? Get on and kill mans. It's not like people are just sitting in the server not killing mans. Hats are not making anyone not kill mans.

The fact is games get old. No one plays most of the games we used to play and this one lasted longer than most.

If you guys just got on and killed mans instead of whining about hats your problem would be solved, but no its better to sit here and talk about how no one kills mans. Sitting about not killing mans did more to kill this game than any hats every did.

I love all you guys. But yeah, there's no need for my server these days anymore.

TF2 has kinda become that ex who gets progressively more and more crazy and desperate every time you see her. I mean, yeah, she looks good in that new hat and jewelry, and she promises that it'll be a new experience this time. She knows some new tricks, after all. However, just like the last time she said that, you realize it's all superficial, and the same combination that always worked before still works just as effectively now. Two rounds in, and you are already repeating yourself. Doesn't mean it's not fun, and that you didn't have good times, it's just that sometimes, you have to realize that you're just friends now.

I've been playing a fair amount of TF2 lately. People are playing to have fun. You can just leave TF2 open one night a week if you want to idle. And it's not like they've been standing still with gameplay updates. The polycount update had a lot of new weaponry that added sub-classes, and they've never stopped adding new maps or making nice little updates like damage sounds or UI improvements.

Quitting TF2 is perfectly understandable cause, hey, it's been out a long time. But "because people are wearing hats" is a stupid reason.
