Creative earbuds going bad?

I've got a pair of Creative EP-630 ear buds that for no apparent reason that I've been able to determine, the right channel has lost most of its volume. It still produces sound, no crackling or hissing or anything, but it's just really quiet compared to the left channel.

I've used them connected to two computers and both had the same problem, so it's not software (balance settings or what have you)

Anybody have any ideas why this would be, or does it sound like they're just dying?

They're actually way cheaper than I thought they were, so I wouldn't be too broken up if I had to buy a new set, but I'd like to determine if there's an easy fix before I do so.

It's still probably a cord failing, or the driver itself has been damaged... there's probably no way to easily fix it, and the earbuds are inexpensive enough that you should just go ahead and replace them.

It's happened to me a few times with various makes of earbuds. Try wiggling the cord where it connects to the jack. If there's a noticeable change in quality, then it's the wire, and you'll have to buy a new set (and stop pulling the jack out so hard).

Nothing has happened at all when I've wiggled the cord at either end, but yeah, the cord is short and I have accidentally given it a few pretty good tugs in the past, so I probably did mess up the wire. Looks like I'll just get a new set. Thanks guys.
