    I had a long reply typed out but then the thread was locked.

    Condensed version: I work for an EMS company in the Detroit area who also does the laboratory service for two major hospital systems. I realize that I shouldn't take it personally but when morale at the company is already in the dumpster, shit like this doesn't help. They could have waited two stupid days and I would have had my shift and he could have my old one. I'm aware that I should be full time but this company is so dysfunctional I'd get laughed at if I asked for benefits. "It's the economy, stupid!" etc. etc.

    I'm applying for seasonal work where I can on Sunday, my only day of the week off.
