Motown Thread

Everybody knows Motown records, founded by Berry Gordy Jr. in Detroit in the the 1960's. It was possibly the first major record label devoated to integrating black music into the pop music scene, and over the years has created tons of legendary artists and songs. It was not without its controversies (Gordy's relationship with Diana Ross for one), but no one can deny it is not a legendary name.
Some of it's artists.
Stevie Wonder
Diana Ross and the Supremes
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles
Jackson Five
Marvin Gaye
The Temptations
The four tops
The Commodores
Lionel Richie
Martha and the Vandellas
Mary Wells
Etc.

Talk about what you remember most about this company, and feel free to post some links to your favorite songs. My favorite band from motown was probably the Spinners, as seen here.
