I caught the end of this last night to see Jose Gonzalez save the show and the Uncharted 3 trailer, so I guess I didn't miss much. NPH didn't even seem that stellar. And some guy tried to make a joke about hybrids before the Forza 4 trailer and the crowd was just dead silent, I felt bad for him.
So, what groan worthy filler did I miss last night?

It was the VGAs. I didn't even watch it so and I could probably sum it up.
Host trying to save a dying ship.
Lots of celebrities looking lost/there for free stuff
Joke about NERDS!!!
People advertising their next project.
People showing that they still think we're in the late 80s/early 90s when it comes to video games.

Hell...anything I miss?
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that pretty much summed it up.
Regarding the end of the year Bombcast, I am hearing a lot of rumblings about ME2. And even though 3/4 of the crew loved RDR, Jeff still hasn't played it so he might not let it win.

I was only watching this in the background waiting for the ME3 trailer, which came thankfully early-ish so I could bail. But after watching Dane Cook tell Dane Cook jokes that fell justifiably flat, there was some part where a lady was interviewing some guy...the volume was down and I was only half-listening, but it sounded like he was being interviewed because he was an XBL smack talker? He was recounting a no doubt hilarious anecdote about how this guy demanded he take something back but he wouldn't take it back and the guy was freaking out about it but he still wouldn't take it back and it was just the funniest.
Did that really happen and is my impression accurate?

Nick Swardson is actually pretty funny, that wasn't very good though.
Vinny really likes Brotherhood (he's neglected to play any other games according to the last two podcasts), and if Brad hurries up and finishes AC1 he might concede it. Jeff also seems to love Brotherhood.
I am just really hoping ME2 doesn't get it basically, but yeah, it seems like it might be a likely choice.

He actually has a hilarious bit where he scares his neighbor playing videogames all night very loudly. I don't want to spoil the punchline, but it's great.
There are few things I anticipate more than Giant Bomb's four-hour GOTY deliberation podcast.
They had some interesting choices for their personal Top 10 lists last year... I would hope that some of them put Deadly Premonition on there this year, but their own level of sucking at the game might deter them.
You and I tend to like similar things*, and I think you'd at least see why people like it genuinely if you ever have the chance to give it a go. Primus summed up everything pretty much - but I bet you would have a good time and get pretty into the story.

Angry Joe has his interview up with the guy in charge of the VGA's.
The guy is about as big a jerk as you'd expect. Its fun watching him suggest that the VGA is a serious thing, telling Joe to just see it this year, its better... but, we've seen the actual product. Improvement. Right.
MC. Host. I guess those would be NPH. Whatever you call the guy thats the public face of an event. His title is executive somesuch of somethingsomething. He's Vice whatever it is, though. I just like the interview because it throws the entire event in a bad light. Especially the question about the selection process, in Geoff's answer to Joe vs. his answer to the group.
Angry Joe's stuff is alright. I tend to agree with his reviews, and there's a lack of pretension in them. Less a critic and more a guy with a camera (and a green screen for a neat command center-thing). The early stuff is really awful, though, just him and some other guy screaming "FUCK YEAH!" during the duration of any given interview.
That Angry Joe guy is an idiot. Geoff is just a producer, all he'll do in any interview is just support the show. An interview with the head honcho of the show/network might have been worth something.
I mean really there's an extent to how much complaining and blogging is warranted by this thing. All it comes down to is don't watch it and don't go to the website if you don't want it to happen anymore.
Gee, what a surprise. You be a dick to Geoff Keighley (or the VGAs) for years, then ask for an interview, and wonder why he doesn't give you anything to work with?
I fucking hate Keighley, 99% of the time, and I actually support what he did to Angry Joe because the guy is a huge fucking asshole.
edit: It doesn't help that it oozes "WATCH ME RAGE ON YOUTUBE" over a goddamn hour and a half ad. It's not like we didn't know what we were getting into every single year, after the first one; a handful of trailers we care about, a bunch of shit we don't, and some awards to pat the best games of the year on the head.
I got about 2 minutes in before I turned it off. He seems to be under the impression he's actually important, that he's the voice of the internet and demands to be treated with respect. What an egotistical douche.

Brad wants Starcraft 2
Ryan wants AssBro
Jeff wants Pacman or Super Street Fighter
Vinny wants Fallout New Vegas
and then they all concede and pick Mass Effect 2.
Won't be as epic as GTA VS MGS
I couldn't even keep the squadmates straight until they had one of them get an eyepatch.

Given how they all felt back when Mass Effect 2 came out (Jeff called that game special), I definitely think it'll be the unanimous decision.
I need to go back and listen to that podcast. And I need to go back and play the ME 2 DLC.
Bekoz MOTION KAPTCHARING TEKNOLOGY AND VOIC AKTOR.
Also, you have to give black ops something, just because it gets so much industry money.
I wish Mike and Jerry would bring back 'The 75th annual We're Right awards'.

Not that I'd put the real thing past them.
I don't know

Don't people just kinda like it ironically?
I don't get it.
But the story, the characters, so many details and features that other games simply don't have...
I like the game a lot, and not ironically.
...But I also appreciated the next-gen Alone in the Dark*, which puts me in a distinct minority.
*I do not think Alone in the Dark was a good game, but it had a lot of things in it that were very innovative and creative.

It's just the pacing, general mechanics and weird ass design decisions that aren't great or even good really.
Would still love to play it though. If they ever localise the PS3 version.
I mean, it is only $20
But I'm so fucking inundated with games right now, I keep buying more and more even though I can't put down AC Brotherhood
It will be a problem until I 100% that game completely

As for Angry Joe, is he actually entertaining? I watched one video of him and he came across as a douche with an enormous ego.
Edit: Wait it's just Geoff Keighley? He's not in charge of it.

he seemed like a genuinely likable dude
