If Prometheus is in thegame, that makes me hope we'll get to have a boss battle that's an actual martial arts throwdown. He's one of the few Bat-villains that would work well for that.
You just need to be wary of the fact that the collar will attract the attention of anyone else in the room. You can certainly use that fact to your advantage.
What is the deal with the suicide collar guys? I'm not sure I get it. Am I not supposed to take them out? What do I do with these guys?
You can throw th the sonic shock batarang in a corner somewhere.
And one of the thugs will come receive it. Which will give you chance to take him out whilst the other thugs aren't looking.
Or you can take them out by throwing the sonic shock batarang at their suicide collars.
The moment you take down a guy wearing a suicide collar, the other thugs start running toward the noise. I would advice you take down the straggler in the group or leave explosive gel on the body.

How could you not have tried that yet? It's glorious!
Bonus points if they're standing on a collapsible floor when you do it. Although I haven't tried that yet, so maybe it doesn't work like I think it would.

That would work. But it depends on whether or not the map can accommodate that at the same time that they're wearing the collars. If you can get the upgrades quickly enough, you can do it with a sonic batarang to attract attention.
Some of the challenge rooms might be able to do it, too.
I didn't know there was a quick claw key. I also didn't know you could so easily give people momentum to fall off a railing.
I think that's one of the challenge room options.
I didn't even really think about using the Line launcher to knock people over until that came up in a challenge room. To be fair, it's still not really as intuitive as the other options at your disposal.

Yeah, but the thing I didn't know was that there was a quick claw button, I would manually select the claw and then yank.
From this I realized that if I stand in front of an electrified gate, yank, and then jump over them. I can shock 1 or 3 guys at the gate.
Giant Bomb talks about the demo on this week's Bombcast. Sounds like detective vision is a first-person affair this time around, or at least something that (relatively) pins you in place to use, rather than working like it did in the first game.
That sounds like when you set up a "crime lab" in the first one.
Yes, it looks like they may have moved more in that direction for detective vision as a whole, so that people won't play the whole game with it switched on. I didn't use it that much but I understand there are many who couldn't play without it.

I was one of those who played with it on for a large majority of the time. I'd turn it off to check a few things, and then just move on. It didn't really bother me too much. I mean, you could see through effing walls. Hah.
I'm a little saddened by the change, but as long as its not something that's A) on a "cooldown" or has a weird setup or "casting" time then I'm ok with it. I don't mind flipping it on and off, as opposed to walking around with it.
No, he's a hidden boss. You mean you didn't find him?
I kid.
Well you kidd me not. For i know Arkham Asylum like the back of my hand.
Anyway Arkham City might have gotten a little more creepier.
Batman can fly over the streets... or sneak beneath them!
A recent preview from the Guardian reveals that as well as running through the streets and soaring above the rooftops, players will also venture in the depths of Arkham City's sewer system!
You can also spot manhole covers that will let you into the sewer system
Arkham City is shaping up to be much more vertical than it's predecessor, and who knows what threats are lurking beneath Arkham City?

The first time I played the game, I was using a rather crappy CRT that was nearly dead. I pretty much had to use Detective mode.
Once I got a good TV though, the first thing I did was replay the game. I had to consciously keep from using Detective mode though.

I only used detective mode when approaching a new area for the first time and when needing to stealth.
I turned it off in combat.
After I lost my saves and did the second normal runthrough with my girlfriend watching, I kept it turned off as much as possible because it really bothered her.
The game is really pretty! I recommend anyone who hasn't played through the game while barely using it do so. You are missing out on some great visual details. It's worth a playthrough just to see them. Think of it as an excuse to play more Batman.

I want to play Arkham Asylum again so bad but my PS3 died in the middle of one of the Scarecrow sections last time and now I'm paranoid with my new one.

Arkham Asylum's brawls maxed out at 12 bad guys. In Arkham City, we're told that the number will be at least 25, possibly even 26. That's a lot of dudes.
Wait, really? I thought the brawl at the start of the party had like 20 guys.
Also, the third Scarecrow encounter is great. Very Eternal Darkness-y.
No, it's true, I've heard there's a major bug on the PS3 release that causes the game to lock up and restart. It's so easy to duplicate, I don't know why they haven't patched it. No way am I playing this buggy as shit game.

I mean, we'd have no arguments about what constitutes a proper counter to a knife guy.
