Perhaps quality of play has lessened at high Elo as well. It certainly seems that way from watching TreeEskimo, Roku, etc play lately. A lot of rage at idiot mistakes going around.

Or perhaps the difference between low and high elo was never as large as you thought it was.

I'd love to smurf sometime to test my assumptions, although I don't in anyway feel I'm an 1800+ quality player. I know that many high Elo players have said when they smurf it's just absolutely ridiculous the kind of insanity they can pull off because the skill levels are so disparate.

There is a huge difference between new and experienced players. Smurfing and stomping new players isn't saying much. I'm talking about elo amongst level 30's

I'm talking about smurfing low Elo ranked

That was my experience at the unranked/sub-1300 levels too, although my sample size there was small so I can't know for sure if it's definitive. But, I was able to absolutely crush my lane in most games then just carry everyone on my team.

I just saw the damned strangest thing in an unranked game. The entire enemy team ran through our jungle and settled in the bushes between our top two towers. We spotted them out of sheer luck so it didn't immediately turn into a clusterfuck. But seriously, wtf? I've never seen anyone pull that before. Their premade had so many off the wall gank setups we were reacting the entire time and had no chance to go on the offense.

That's kind of an old trick.

Someone dig up the video of the old TF+ward+teammates with teleport gank...

I got around to trying Cassiopeia and I don't see how she is so bad. She seems like riots attempt at making an AP character that isn't all burst. Her ult seems a little weak but her other abilities are great. She is amazing at laning and poking. I like to think that I am just awesome and that everyone else hasn't figured her out or something. I am probably wrong though.

Finally won a game, satisfyingly. First blood and 3 more kills early, and it just snowballed from there.

By the end of it I had Sword of Divine, Phantom Dancer, Youmuu's, Berzerker's and Stark's. Kind of just took my pick between Annie, Cass or Vlad, then just melted them.

Decrease the cooldown and I would be happy. The damage is meh, but not bad. The ability itself is pretty neat, but the cooldown is too long at the moment.

Haha Oh Lord. I have never ever played DOTA or Tower Defense or any kind of thing before this and I'm beginning to see the appeal.

I'm playing as this electric ninja squirrel thing? Kennen? He seems kind of cool, but definitely doesn't do a lot of damage.

I am completely and utterly lost on equipment, the game is flying by so quickly trying to figure that out seems to be difficult indeed.

Yo so I looked at your match history (I think it was yours, if not then whoooops) and it looks like your problem with Kennen is that you went with attack damage items. Beneath this spoiler lies a wall of text within which are ways to "step up your game" with Kennen.
Kennen is one of the most totes awesome casters in the game, so you want magic boosting (ability power, or AP) items. When I play Kennen I start with a Doran's Shield and a health potion for laning. I then rush for a Rylai's Crystal Scepter for the AP, HP, and slowing effects. The boots that I build up for are Sorceror's Shoes, to boost my damage, but you might want to grab Mercury's Treads because reducing stuns while you are still learning the game is hella rad. After that you should grab either a Zhonya's Ring for massive AP and the active ability that let's you be completely invulnerable, or you should get an Abyssal Scepter if the bad dudes get a signifigant amount of magic resist. Once you have either the Zhonya's or the Abyssal, buy the one that you didn't get, because magic damage all day erryday. If the game is still going after that (it probably wont be) I like to get defense items, unless the enemy team has never even touched me.

Defense items (and when to get them) are pretty much always reliant on the enemy team's damage output. You'll learn which champions do what sorts of damage via experience, or checking out the damage list thingy it lets you view after you die. The Aegis of the Legion is an item that is really useful and cost effective, as it gives both armor and magic resist, as well as an aura that gives armor, magic resist, and attack damage to nearby allies.

Fuck that was a lot of poorly formatted words I posted in response to a thing that might not even be the right thing.

EDIT: oh also i sent you a friend request on LoL so when you get a thingy from an incredibly sexy man dubbed "Zolnab" that is me

The only bug in this game that actually bothers me every single time is when jungle creeps refuse to "spec" (what do other people call this? When the enemy gets dragon/baron/their buff and you go to the location and the skull and crossbones goes away until that camp respawns?)
It's super annoying and it legitimately affects gameplay

When you see a wiped creep spawn and it doesn't update the minimap? Yeah, that's annoying.

I actually stopped playing Poppy because her charge is buggy as hell.

Sometimes it knocks people through terrain, essentially teleporting them to safety. Extremely frustrating.

    yeah this shit blows

sometimes i've had poppy herself teleport and that sucks just as bad

i think they might have destroyed her mana costs a little too hard

i did understand that pre-nerf i literally played as if i had no mana, but didn't they double the mana costs on everything? shit is ridonkulous

shes really fun and all but being purely single target deeps kinda sucks, and since her ult is such a big part of her damage it blows

veigar is pretty big single target damage but he can baleful a SHITTON in a fight, has an aoe stun, and dark matter can hit 2-3 people for large amounts

Yeah but LeBlanc has a lot more mobility, I think you need to really abuse her blink (which by the way does do AoE damage). Kind of like Kassadin I guess?

Of course Kassadin scales really well with items, so

The nice thing about her blink is that you can blink back. Then ult copy your blink if you need to get away. Her mobility is one of her strongest assets and using it aggressively is pretty key for her. Plus the cooldown on it is not to bad either.

well what i mean is even if you blink back you still have no escape now for someone like xin zhao to dash on top of you and brutally murder you

also, the 11 second cooldown on her blink isn't awesome compared to the 3 second one on riftwalk

Well like he said you can use your ultimate to blink again if they decide to focus you

And/or just run flash like everyone else!

But it seems like a pretty decent plan to hide behind a wall, blink over, dump all your nukes, blink back over the wall until CDs come up.

My favorite thing to do, ever, as LeBlanc. Unless the enemy team has someone who can silence/stun sitting there, then you're just screwed because you can't get back over the wall.

If you enjoy tanks and are good at tanks, I recommend you play tanks. Everyone team needs 1, and no team is hurt by having 2.

However, I suggest Warwick, Udyr, and Vlad as alternatives. They all are best played building tanky, but play in unique, fun, and effective ways.

I never could get used to WW or Shen. although that's probably because of lack of experiance with tem.

Vlad and Udyr have always been on my list to buy, shall have to try them out some time.

Still, gonna try and be semi competent with one of each class of champion. Makes it easier if my team needs a specific role filled.
