So, what's our next all-powerful video game convention?Other than PAX of course... hehe

Dare we move to E4?! will the warp drives be able to maintain the kind of energy needed to move to E4?

E for All Expo (formerly named GamePro Expo) is being touted as the new E3. I have no idea if it will succeed; they do need a better website, however.

It's not like E3 is gone, there's just going to be less people going. I think there's still going to be a ton of huge announcements and stuff.

E3 isn't gone, and in fact I think shrinking it down was a good move. As it was to many people who shouldn't have been there were, and it was turning into a circus.

There are still a lot of expo events where developers can show their products (far better then at E3) which are better oriented for the actual press, instead of "hey random person who works at gamestop look at this big display and boobies!"

The big problem is that the e3 timeframe made it a perfect time to announce games. You could announce games for the summer that were going to be out shortly, and you could announce all of your holiday titles without having to present "final versions."

PAX, while big, is too late for the summer rush and gives devs no time to build hype for xmas games. Any other expo would need to be around May to really work with the same level of "announce frenzy" that e3 did.

I think there'll still be a good chunk of games announced at e3, but significantly less media. In fact, this is kind of silly to talk about now, as we'll have to see what all of the different shows actually DO before we know which is going to be essentially the "new e3."

I think it did a lot of damage though in that aspect. Since everything came out at once a lot of smaller titles didn't get enough press. And larger games, got tons of press even if they were all booth fluff and no content. Plus developers felt that had to show a game there.

Yeah, they put the boobies on the big display. All about synergy.

I don't really care about E3's downsizing. The only reason I look forward to E3 every year is for Nintendo's pre-E3 conference, and they're still going to have those.

lies, your official response was printed in Edge, and something to the tune of "we don't want to be the new E3, but we sure are getting big"
