I have a friend who is Taiwanese, and he wants to pursue a PhD in the USA. He's getting his CV ready now, but he has a small problem: one of the publications he wants to list was written with a different romanization of his name from the one on his passport (and other publications). It's different enough that most people would not be able to tell that it's the same person. What is the proper way to list the publication and let the reader know that he wrote it under a different name? I suggested that he list it as "original name (AS alternate)," like so:
Chien-Kuo Lu, Chih-Dzai Chien (as Jhih-Tsai Jian): "Identification of the Impact ...," etc. etc.
Chien-Kuo Lu, Chih-Dzai Chien (as Jhih-Tsai Jian): "Identification of the Impact ...," etc. etc.
