I will be buying OoT 3D because I enjoy playing through it again from time to time. Somebody mentioned it earlier that a lot of the appreciation from some gamers today comes from nostalgia and how it was part of their youth. I can agree with this. OoT was the second game I ever beat, after Super Mario 64. I fucking loooooooove Ocarina of Time. But nostalgia aside it's also a damn well-made game and it still holds up, I think. With the improvements I'm certain they'll add for the remake, that's all the justification I need in coughing up the dough and playing through a part of my childhood again.
Seriously, the Hyrule Field theme still brings me back to being an eager 9-year-old heading out on a new frontier. I will happily pay for that experience again.
The main reason I'm buying OoT3D is because (and please nobody hit me for this) I've still never played more than an hour of Majora's Mask, and I figure if OoT3D sells well they'll make Majora's Mask 3D.

The main reason I haven't played MM is because I no longer own my n64 (gave it away for christmas a few years back), so I'd have to shell out for a whole new console.
To be fair, Majora's Mask is definitely not for everyone. The whole game basically revolves around the concept of doing a bunch of stuff, then playing a fanciful song to undo everything you just did. Then do it again.
But man, that game does such an amazing job of making you care about the characters in the world, usually by requiring you to get to know them in order to get a mask. And I got every damn one of those masks.
I still don't get why peope act like TP GC is hugely superior to the Wii version
does it really exhaust you so much to move your arms around from time to time or are you just annoyed that shield bash doesn't register half the time?
So you're asking why people dislike a gimmick that was blatantly tacked on to the game at the last minute? The gamecube version is better because it controls pretty flawlessly compared to WiiTP.
Wind Waker was amazing up until the stupid triforce fetch quest, but the game is so damn good I can't even get mad. I can perfectly understand why someone wouldn't like MM, but the game was flawless in its execution and just because it wasn't OoT2 doesn't make it terrible.
Man what MM had a pretty visually stunning overworld, the area outside the town was meh but each of the 4 areas with the dungeons were amazing.
Also does nobody get the reference behind "B.Murray"? I hope some of you do.
thank god someone got my joke
Yeah really, everyone is like "OH YEAH I CAN THINK OF GOOFY NAMES TOO" (Not knocking those who did, I'm sure Hitler is quite hilarious to play through Zelda with as a name)
Nobody gets the art behind B.Murray.
Fuck I wanna play Ocarina of Time again. And Majora's Mask.

I assume you were making a Groundhog Day reference
Groundhog Day is my favorite movie of all time
Phil is the name of the character that Bill Murray played
Hey, did Nintendo or anyone who's played the game so far say anything about the music? Is it just the original music or are they enhancing it at all?
I think I remember reading it will be orchestral music. This was what they originally planned for the original OoT however due to limitations they could only do midi tracks.
I'm looking forward to the 3DS "retouch" of OoT myself. OoT still remains my favorite game of all time, and something like this gives me a chance to revisit it.
Plus worthwhile handheld Zelda title would be nice. Minish Cap was the last portable Zelda game I liked, the DS ones didn't really do much for me to be honest.

What OOT really needs is the traditional Zelda overworld theme to be put in it. A huge glaring ommission it is.
Nope
You. You are horrible.

I love the original overworld theme
but why does OoT need it?
How is it an "omission" for it not to have it? I hate it when new games in a series do nothing but self-reference and refuse to come up with new stuff. Almost every track in OoT is a gem, and almost all of them were completely original.

Has that already been covered?

An hour was all I needed to decide I didn't want to play another second of MM
so a 3DS remake would be pretty tops.
I gave it more time than that, and I still agree with you. Worst Zelda Ever.

Oh, yeah, Ocarina of Time is good too. In 3D.

Majoria's Mask is 10x better if you rename Link to "B.Murray"
This trick also works with "Hitler," "Santa," and "BillNye."

Except, for, you know. The fantastic overworld. The brilliantly made dungeons, the engaging sidequests, and the great story.
I don't even think I got to a dungeon
I hear the story is good

what's the matter, you didn't like Gears of Zelda?
Or "Phil"
or "NED?"

Ned is another character from the movie
You shouldn't have to explain your references
SO ANYWAYS
I honestly feel pity on anyone who did not, and frankly I haven't even seen that movie (I really want to rectify that sometime).
Also, Majora's Mask was god damn fantastic. If you didn't do the sidequests you have no right to say it sucked :P It also had amazing dungeons though.
Plus, you know, protecting cows from UFOs.
bill murray doesn't play characters with names
he's always just Bill fucking Murray.
Except when he's Garfield.
We don't speak of that.

Yes Ocarina of Time was the successful action, adventure blockbuster whilst Majora's Mask was the masterpiece which followed to my opinion.
