So I was thinking it might be fun to hook my PC up to our HDTV.

Currently the PC is hooked up the internet via ethernet cable to the router/modem in my office. problem is the Tv is in the living room.

Since i don't want to cave stray cables running everywhere, i was thinking i would share the wireless from my macbook since i don't have a wireless card in my pc.

seems like the mac recognizes regular ethernet cable to connect to a pc

set up internet and web sharing though system preferences though my PC couldn't find the network even though it was on etc

anyone do this and can walk me through it?

This should be a piece of cake to do, I do it all the time. All you need is a standard ethernet cable to plug between the two.

On the mac, go to System Preferences, click sharing, and click on internet sharing. Before it's turned on, make sure it's sharing the connection from Airport, to computers using Ethernet. Once those are set, go ahead and check the checkbox on the sharing list. It'll ask you if you really want to start, and you have to hit start, it's not the blue one that you are immediately drawn to click.

Once that's done, go ahead and plug in the ethernet cable between the two computers, the win7 computer should detect it, and after a moment, show an A-OK.

That is really ALL there is to it, you *seem* to have done the right thing, but that's how it's done.

yea thats what i did. i wonder if its a timing of the plugging in of the cable. i had the pc plugged in when i turned it on, but i don't see how that would make a difference.

do you do anything special PC side?
