Yeah gamer entitlement is fucking annoying. Especially for consumers who frequently flaunt breaking the law when they don't get their way.
I'd steal apples if every time I walked into Wal-mart some old guy followed me around and watched and inspected everything I put into my basket, then when I checked out kicked me in the nuts and told me I should stop being a dirty thief and pay for my food and stop being a youngin' because we're all up to no good what with our fancy music and clothes.
Then he stole my wallet and kicked me in the nuts again for good measure, and installed a spycam in my bedroom to make sure I didn't steal anything from the store at a later point in time. Then called me up occasionally and screamed at me for being a dirty little thief.
You're right, that's a good thing to do to your customers.
I buy games and none of this happens to me, not even metaphorically
Also, are you somehow trying to justify piracy? This isn't some evil entity denying you basic goods and services.

You forgot when you can't eat the apples you paid for because the store's authentication server goes down.
Then if you try to work around it and eat your apples anyway, you are a criminal.

No, just speaking metaphorically if I bought a game that nagged me that I didn't buy a full copy when I did, installed a rootkit (more common than you think!) or broke my computer because it thought I was stealing (again, more common than you think!)

i liked 2046 i guess for the cinematography and evocative settings even though it did not make much sense
i ask because in the mood for love is on netflix instant
In the Mood for Love is considerably better in almost every way. It has a similar mood and pace but also has a straightforward story at its core.
2046 was literally assembled from the cutting-room leavings of In the Mood for Love, pasted together with some CGI and new footage (he did the same thing with Chungking Express and its quasi-sequel Fallen Angels). I guess I admire the economy but in both cases he ended up with one incredible film and one weird sort of side project.

I think the pace of ItMfL was just too slow to have it be a straight story. 2046, with it's disjointedness, benefits from the crawling pace and extended shots.
Theft out of spite is hilarious and can be safely tucked under the column of self-entitlement
Theft out of need is still illegal but a tiny bit more morally defensible
Ultimately because I'm not a thief I pay the store to serve me apples on a silver platter for the same price, monthly. And mostly because if I don't I usually end up getting apples with worms or mold in them because they'd rather me not steal them than anything.
hopefully that will give that godawful joke some fucking context
have you not played the original?
I don't play PC games. I lack the hardware.
it's on the 360 too
anyway, "the cake is a lie" is actually part of this really creepy and neat reveal about the true nature of things in the game, it's not as asinine as the joke
I've only got a PS3. Hopefully they'll re-release it, it's got a great rep.

what? how does this happen?
i mean, maybe i'm not really in the business of trying to play games outside of the expected use scenarios, but i don't think i've had these problems.
I don't think piracy is a particularly moral cause or anything
but on the other hand, I will never care about people stealing from gigantic media corporations, or large business in general
the profit motive blows and is morally bankrupt, and large companies will fuck you in the ass every chance they get so I have no qualms if you manage to fuck them first
when working people defend corporations' best interests I get sort of sick to my stomach and also sad
in this regard Apple is basically the worst
tldr: Noam Chomsky and the myth of the benevolent corporation

For me the pace totally suited the languid, steamy subtropical atmosphere that the movie was drenched in. It helped that I don't mind lingering on the visuals when they are so shamelessly voluptuous. Christopher Doyle (Wong's cinematographer) is a world treasure.

It was really intense and had a pretty solid cast. But maaaaan...
Spectre recommended it some years ago and he wasn't wrong.
That's what I thought. Just debating the pace of handing out power points in pbp.
(yes I know wal-mart but I have gift cards to use)
also will I need any cables or shit for my brobox or what now that I am no longer using an SDTV

the conversations have basically just confirmed my fears that she's unsure about the relationship and doesn't know if things are going to work out
There were butts.
Ok.
There weren't actually any. I was hopeful.
Hopeful.
Butts!
I could turn this into a Red Ranger thread so ridiculously fast
but I'm not in the mood for a bannin' today
Shit man I'm sorry. Look, here's an acceptable, albeit line-skirting picture
I'm sorry I couldn't resist, here
I am close to buying the thing
I ain't gonna be able to tell if this is sarcasm
it's weird

I really like the company. The refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired. Not properly divisible.
God, at first I thought the arm to her right was her right arm and I was like "damn, something is wrong with her hand!"
wooooo cultural imperialism
wooo colorism

Being pale skinned appears to be very in vogue in Japan and Korea.
