Test Drive Unlimited 2 - PC Patch out, Consoles incoming
You must have done it already, it pops up after the A4 championship high is completed. I may have gotten the name wrong.

I just finished A4 last night and didn't see what was new, so I may have it.

Oh, while we're talking about championships, I love that the Speed Trap challenges don't penalize you for missing traps. And that it's based on averages.
There have been times where I've hit one the fastest and can just kick back and relax.
Honestly unless you get it stuck in something retarded like this it's almost too good. There is something unsettling about a literal army of police Veyrons chasing you down with out a break.
It's pretty much impossible to escape with out cheating like that or having them get caught on something. It really has some ways to go before it could be as good as something like that.

They're only Veyrons if you're using an A1 car... right?
Some of the police vehicles are player-controlled, though. I remember driving around and getting a call asking if I wanted to participate in a chase; after selecting yes, I got teleported into a police Dodge Charger near some other police Chargers with player names over them.
Only managed to get that to come up once, though. Was pretty fun while it lasted

Suddenly the police being incredibly lenient (read: you have to be *this* much of a douche before we'll pursue you) makes sense, since Veyrons aren't exactly the most cost-effective way to lay down the law.
I've been on both sides of this now, and I have to say having players take on the roll of pursuit was a stroke of genius. Knowing that the cops after you are not stupid AI but, you know, humans, makes it incredibly nerve wracking. They're not fazed by such tomfoolery.
I was able to evade simply because I had a Ford GT and a wide open 4 lane freeway. The hardest part was convincing myself it was OK to slow down so as not to crash.

New patch out
Hello Everyone,
We recently released a PC patch which contained the following fixes:
* Fix for club-related exploit
* Several connection problems have now been corrected
* Enabling of Co-op multiplayer races once club functionality is online
* Enabling of Weather when offline
* Fix for “Lancia with purple wheels” has been applied, and is corrected for players who are currently affected by the issue
* Clothing options no longer disappear in dressing-rooms
We have been very happy with the results of the recent patch, and will be pushing another patch tonight at 1AM PST (0900 GMT) which contains the following improvements:
* Friends list should no longer disappear
* Friend invites should consistently work
* Club issue should be fixed, Clubs should go live some time after the patch is released
* Further enhancements to prevent file corruption
* Additional back-end functionality to recover previously corrupted save files
The servers will be offline for one hour, starting at 1AM PST (0900 GMT).
Please feel free to post your feedback here on the forums. Let us know if the issues above have been fully resolved for you! Your voice is an important part of the process.
Once again, thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share their feedback here on the forums. Rest assured that we have been working diligently to get these issues resolved, and are very grateful for the support that we have received from our fans during the launch rush.
Servers should be up now. I finally managed 100% on all of Ibiza. I'm not sure if it was a patch or not but a couple of new gray sections appeared when I logged in last night. Also, the Atom really helps to make quick work of some of the challenges. I think I've been averaging around 18 or 20 an hour since I started clearing them off my todo list.

A1 down. Kinda regretting fully tuning my Zonda (cost like 1 million) when I ended up using the Bugatti the whole time. You just can't compete with Stewart otherwise.

The bugatti handles really will though. Also haven't been able top play for two days. Yet again I've been kicked out my bedroom in favour of guests. Theres always tonight. Tomorrow the new components arrive. Should have ordered an extra fan or two though.
I can no longer connect with my good profile. I decided to try a new profile and got on without any difficulty. I've got 40+ hours into that profile, I hope they can get whatever the issue is fixed.
edit:
I checked the savefolder and it is empty. Woo.

Supposedly they fixed that, but they said if you get that message to try immediately closing the game. Not sure if saves were flat out disappearing, though. That bug has been my one great fear.

And jesus christ, clubs are still offline.
Yes I did try closing immediately. Then I went and checked my save folder. The profile name was there but the files inside were already gone. I've reluctantly started over. At least I know where to find things now so it will be faster.
So I completed the A5 races with the Lotus "solar crown" and had no problem, but I'm having a really hard time with the Time Trial for the first Hawaii Championship. The Lotus seems to have a really big problem with accelerating up those hills so I can't quite make the time needed.
Did the majority use a different car for the A5 races or do I just need to practice more? I've gotten within 1 second of the pass time but that seemed like a perfect run for me.
You probably just need more practice. I've usually run into problems with not accelerating up hills losing me too much time when I took a turn poorly and wasn't moving fast enough out of it.

I think the Lotus wasn't cutting it for me for that race, too. Not sure what I bought offhand, but I can check (if I can get into the game).
I'mm gonna stop playing this now. Atleast until the new computer is put together. There's no point sinking more hours into it when I'll just have to start over. Also, kinda worried I didn't order any additional fans

but it might disappear. Or be classed as tempaering with the 'game balance'.

Well, it's up to you, but you should only have to copy your TDU2 folder from your My Documents. I don't see how it would get flagged as cheating. Just don't play after you back it up until you've copied it to the new computer.

What the hell, why not. I plan on copying the saves and stuff for all the other games so I might as well.
I ended up using the Mercedes I won from Tess. Honestly I'm not 100 percent if it was the car switch or getting better at the turns that did it but all the advice did help. The rest of the courses have been easier so far -- I'm not done with the cup yet, but I've done up to the speed challenge with no issues.
I'm up to about 1.9 million so after this championship is over I assume I'll be raking in the big bucks. I'm thinking about what house and car to buy next.

I had not thought of that.
Dear god his is a master of the driving arts!
I never asked for this!
Now to decide if I want to buy a Zonda, a Veyron, or both.
Seriously, I'm just blowing everyone away in the A2 events. I decided to just try one and ended up finishing the first set.
Aaaaand that's A2 done.
The police are targeting... you!
Please tell me the AI police is still a challenge, this aside. If this game can be Need for Speed Most Wanted 2 then I may never put it down.

I don't want to say yes to that but I also don't want to crush your soul...
Well they won't ALL be Veyrons... Is that better?

I definitely remember seeing a Dodge Viper SRT10 in with a Veyron at one point.

Yeah I used the Audi TT and it just annihilated the rest of them. All wheel drive is so ungodly handy in all those races it's just crazy.

I also think it's a pretty nice car for just cruising around.
But I'm consistently disappointed by how boring TDU2's replays are to watch. There's pretty much no reason to ever watch them.
