NOOOOO! You need get something done, anything. Just seriously. Do it. And then trigger one of those instant challenges and laugh as the strangers try hitting on you when you look like something out of an Alfred Hitchcock horror movie.
Oh god, everyone is more attracted to you after surgery?
I mean, my guy is a total douche with a semi-fauxhawk, so I guess he can only go up from here ../

Is there any hope of getting a mod that allows real time crash damage on vehicles? It feels so.. uh.. 90's to lose control and go flying into a wall at 90 mph to suffer the horrible damage of getting a little dirt on the fender. You can have the most advanced graphics on the planet, but if you don't have any crash damage whatsoever it doesn't matter how good it looks. It's crap. You think they would have fixed that shortcoming from the first game. Instead they've embraced it as if it were a staple of their series. MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH

An incomplete car list with stats can be found here. It should be publicly editable, so feel free to add/revise/etc. A non-editable link is here for spreading around to other places. Currently it's sorted by class and then cost.

So I played this a little last night.
I am in love.
Now I need to decide if I'll keep using my 360 pad (which works fine), or if I want to drag out my crappy Logitech wheel and pedals. I'd probably prefer using the wheel, but the lack of buttons is annoying and it doesn't have a control pad. I was worried about performance after things I've read, but it ran fine at 1080p with everything maxed.
what's your spec carcass? Also, I'm on the verge of ordering the parts, just need someone to tell me it'll go together fine and I'm good to go! Bonus; I have money to spend on Two Worlds 2 too!

I have one or more of the following:
AMD Phenom II x4 3.1GHz (Actually a Black x2 with the other two cores unlocked)
ATI 1GB 5770
4GB of RAM
edit: well shit. Its actually cheaper going the AMD route. Much cheaper. Change of planes, again.
Yeah, it pretty much always is. Intel may edge out AMD for pure performance, but I'll always go AMD purely for the price. I think I paid $90 for my processor, a year ago.
My video card is an XFX and it's been pretty good. They have a lifetime warranty. I think it was about $190 but it's discontinued now.
Try this for controllers - Don't know if it's been posted already.
I found the default for the 360 controller to be pretty good. Setting the pad linearity to 2 is a 1:1 ratio. I guess that is why the speed factor is set so high. Brakes are already on the too high side, setting them so that less pressure is more is counter intuitive - I might give it a try though.
I ended up setting my wheel to 140 degrees lock to lock (I normally use 840 or 540). I had it set higher to a more sane and realistic number but I couldn't find a combination of linearity and speed factor that felt right. Wheel support just isn't there like it was in the first - the game doesn't even use the paddles automatically with cars that have them.

The card is still available, unless you're referring to the warranty? Anyway, I tallied the cost of the new machine with the components you're using and it came to a fantastic £348. Taking the GPU out and using my old one for the time being would bring it right down to £250. That's..... ridiculous. My current card can handle alot of games on high, it was the CPU bottlenecking the system. March can't come soon enough!

No, I meant my specific card. My previous computer was so old the only thing I could salvage was the hard drive. I spent about $1100 on the whole thing.
I actually meet the exceed the minimum spec but get horrible framerate issues every now and then. It still looks good considering, but i do wish i could play the game without having the trees pop in so obviously.

If you try to create an offline profile it tells you you can't use it online, so I'd imagine that works the other way, too, which is kind of stupid.

But.... I don't want to play a game with crappy graphics I want to play a game with good graphics. Why can't I have both?
There is a green lancia delta with glowing blue wheels in the used car shop right now with no data, it's a ranked, and if you take it for a drive, it has no gears and the cockpit view looks like you are driving in a car with the roof collapsed.
Bought this on the way home today. I'm conflicted if I actually want to unwrap it from the plastic or not, though, since that's the point-of-no-return if I ended up not liking the game and wanted to return it.
I'm mainly concerned that there are no reviews for it anywhere, despite it being out since Tuesday. Not that I put a huge amount of stock in reviews, but it was concerning that nobody's reviewed the game yet. Gives me the feeling that the publisher knows the game isn't very good and didn't send out review copies. I'm also curious why it's only $50 on the Xbox rather than the usual $60.
You guys wanna give me the last push I need to tear the plastic? I mean I can't find a whole lot of media related to the game, review or otherwise, so this seems like the best place for some opinion on the game.

You bought it for the 360? There's no problem then. PC version is the troublesome one with weird graphical bugs and such. There's still a lot of omissions like the lack of a camera adjument slider for the cockpit view and custom soundtracks on the radio. But the driving IMO is fantastic.
On that note, are we starting a club? Because I finally have enough to buy a club house.

At the current point in time clubs are disabled due to an exploit allowing people to rack up ridiculous amounts of money very quickly. They are working on fixing it right now, hopefully it will be fixed quickly.

Basically, from what I've gathered, if you want a AAA racing title, this ain't it. If you want to do things outside of racing, like cruise around the coast with the top down, this is the game right here.

Why buy it at all and hmm and haww over it? Do your homework. Buy the 1st one for 10 bucks and cut your teeth on the TDU experience. Make your own decisions, man up and play the fucking game.
Hello Everyone,
The forums are currently disabled while we work on troubleshooting the core issues surrounding the issues impacting the online service. Here's status update on where we are at with everything:
Xbox
-Many players are stuck at the loading screen. This is a critical issue on our end and we have several engineers dedicated to getting it resolved. We've pulled in additional programmers from other teams to expedite the fix to the best of our ability.
PS3
-US players are currently unable to access the online services due to a connection issue between the TDU2 client and the TDU2 servers. The first solution candidate is scheduled to be tested within the next couple of hours. If it does not solve the problem, we are currently in talks with Sony to get a patch pushed this weekend to fix the problems.
PC
-The PC client is online and functional. However, we are experiencing intermittent outages related to online play. This is a high priority issue for us, and will be looked into in more detail once the issues surrounding the Xbox and PS3 platforms are ironed out.
We are immensely grateful to our dedicated fans that have stuck with us through the launch rush. While all our systems were thoroughly tested before release, new variables have been introduced into the situation that have made things a bit more complex than expected. Not to worry, our teams are all-hands-on-deck to get everything up and running as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
GMDestra and the Test Drive Unlimited 2 Team

Because I did buy the first one, and happened to like it, but that was also four years ago and a lot can happen to a series that's been dormant for that long. There's very little information out there on this game, and I was asking YOU all your opinion on it before I unwrapped it, looking to know if there are any bugs or any other negative things that might bring the game down. That way I could return it before unwrapping it and buy another game I'm interested in.
But hey, thanks for telling me I'm an indecisive wimp and telling me to find everything out on my own. You've been super helpful.
On another note, thanks for the other constructive feedback from everyone else. I appreciate it.
