Please vote in the Forum Structure Poll. Polling will close at 2PM EST on January 21, 2025.
I have one game for each of four genres, across 20 consoles, 80 games in all. I could have picked the 80 games and been done with it but wanted to allow gamers to have a voice.
On the whole, we really appreciate being given the opportunity to add each of our opinions to the pool. Videogames, unlike every other medium, are interactive and generate communities either directly through multiplayer or indirectly through the shared experience. I think the only way an exhibit on games could work and be true to the culture is to have it built by the gamers themselves.

Appreciate it. That is exactly why the vote is in place. It will be missing games that each person who goes to vote will question (it was painful for me to get rid of the TG-16. Y's III? Wow!). But, there is something for everyone here. As well, I think you will be surprised to see what actually ends up in the exhibition. I have seen the preliminary voting numbers....:)
yes welcome to what the thread title is referencing.

We've been over this a few times. I respect him as a critic, but his opinion on video games is pretty much worthless. "I refuse to ever look at a movie, but I can tell you they can never be art."
I'd like to think he had a part to play in this exhibit coming around.
And yes what Langly said.

What spring does with the cherry trees.
It's a shit movie, because you've seen it, or do you just dislike the premise? I could see it being fairly entertaining if you don't take one side or the other too seriously, but it could also just be really poorly made. I dunno.

I saw it and it was him being dead serious about bitching at critics for being mean to him for most of it. The best parts were the small guest cuts where they just say something like "Do what you love and fuck the rest."
At one point he glorified Uwe Boll. He's so great for taking on those mean internet nerd critics!

Okay, the trailer made it look like mostly interview clips rather than his own polemic.
I do find it entertaining that Uwe's response to people taking things too seriously is to take it so seriously it's absurd, though I'll probably never get around to watching his movies that I added to the Netflix queue.

Some of those votes were tough, some not at all.

EDIT: I didn't see nothing.

Saw it on an airplane. Twice. It's pretty bad.
