Nowhere on the internet does it mention another trigger. I haven't gotten very far in this game. I basically just want to do this event and transfer Celebi to White as soon as possible. What's the deal?
I bet you have to at least beat the radio tower to unlock it considering how the event goes.
also it has to be first in your party when you inspect the shrine. I made that mistake when I went to do it

Ok, so should I spell my name like This? Or like THIS?
This is important
Given that Pokemon names and all the NPCs are named like This, you should go single-upper, rest-lower.
Unless you want to be UNIQUE, do you want to be UNIQUE then?
Didn't all the Pokemon names used to be all caps?
Also, all the Natures are still the same right?

They did. They aren't in all caps anymore. Natures are unchanged.
Wotan, I am seriously feeling sorry for Bianca. Seriously. She... she just wants to be cool like me. And I beat the shit out of her team that she'd been training up with the help of a gym leader.
Shit, even the GYM LEADERS want her to succeed, defending her at every turn. Maybe she's the chosen one.
The only real annoyance I had was the grind. Is that gone? Because if so, sign me the hell up.
From what I understand, they heavily adjusted the XP curve (making it much easier to level), as well as allowing you to turn off basically all battle animations, making fights go pretty much as fast as you can hit the A button. So even if you do have to grind, it goes quick.
I never every fight wild pokemon, I always run. Fuck man.
Guess I'll be spending every last pokecent on Repels.
What in the hell kind of idea is that?
It's a throwback to the days of Dragon Quest 1-3 on the NES, I believe. I don't have any datamining to back me up (and bulbapedia is a smoking crater for me, so I can't check) but it's easily detectable in any of the games -- HGSS for example. Run from a fight, say in a cave. The next battle will come faster. If you keep running, battles will keep appearing at an increased clip, until you actually do a battle, then you'll be able to walk further without seeing another Zubat.
However, it does have the nice side effect of allowing you to run from, say, a Geodude and see another fight (and, possibly, a pokemon you actually want to fight / catch) easier.

I'm pretty sure it's random. I've won many fights and, one or two steps later, there goes the jingle again.
So I'm on my way to save the world from disaster and who do I come across who doesn't know what to do with her life and wants to battle?
BIANCA.

Maybe it's like she's really interested in you and the only way she knows to catch your attention is to go HEY POKEMON BATTLE and she's just hoping you'll notice her and protect her and instruct her in the ways of battling and love.

And this right here is how people can have wildly differing opinions on NPCs in games!
She just strikes me as prime Hufflepuff material. She tries so hard, and does nothing wrong as such, everyone wants to help her out... and she still sucks. It's sweet.

Congratulations, you just summarized half of Fanfiction.net's B&W section.
(The other half is split evenly between Cheren and N.)

I almost always get the first game (Red, Gold, Ruby, Diamond) and got White only because the stupid Gamestop employee put me down for the wrong version and I had already paid it off.
i always get the "second" game and broke the trend with diamond. i always get the color closest tom vblue: blue (bought a latin american spanish red later), silver (bought gold and crystal later), [strike]borrowed sapphire[/strike] emerald, diamond, soulsilver, sapphire.

Actually, Kita might be getting confused.
If you RUN through tall grass, as in, run holding down B with your running shoes, your encounter rate increases. Other things that do this include riding the bike, and playing a specific song/station on your radio. It's not 'running from a battle' that increases the encounter rate, it's running full stop.

And in this game it's balls-to-the-wall insane how much running jacks up the encounter rate.
The wife and I arrive literally just as they open the doors (11am). Pokemon not on the shelves when we get in. After waiting about ten minutes for the monkey to fetch some from the back, he comes back and tells us "They pushed the release date back to April."
o_O
Uh... no, they didn't. And your info kiosk says there are 10+ in THIS store. Manager called. He checks it out and returns the following: "We can only sell the DS bundles today or we'll be fined."
-_-
Funny, GameStop didn't have any problem selling us the individual games.
Dear BBY Corporate (because I believe the manager was actually told this; stupidity that profound can only come from corporate retail HQ): you are fucking morons. The end.

Word. Did you just battle her at the gate to Route 4, or was it what happened on the way to that forest after the second gym?

other than Gary, of course.
Also, in case you didn't notice yet, N always uses Pokemon that appear near the route/cave/town where you fight him. Neat detail.

If this were a Shin Megami Tensei game, I'd expect her to hook up with Team Plasma at some point.
But since this is Pokémon, I have no idea where they're going with her arc. If, indeed, they're going anywhere at all.

Don't worry about it. Pick whichever starter you want, the first gym will not be ANY MORE DIFFICULT regardless of which one you take.

Oh whatever. Snivy it is.
Also, I like the look of the new male hero, because of who he reminds me of:
I'm fuckin' Jaden Yugi, bitch you gonna take my load!

Or maybe it's just in my head -- who knows?
I can't wait
edit: I wonder if it'll be viable to run both psychic and this new move, or if that would take up too many slots
