It's been a while, but I thought the whole reason...*DA:O Spoilers!*
That Morrigan wanted you to go kill Flemeth was because she found out Flemeth was killing her daughters and taking their bodies in order to stay young. Doesn't that imply that she can't change her human appearance, but can move into a different body?

Not that it matters, since I chalked up her new appearance to artstyle differences just like the Darkspawn and Qunari.

    I too thought this

You can't read what's in that book, so you're pretty much at the mercy of Flemeth or Morrigan respectively telling you what it says.

Personally I think they're both lying. And this is why we should KILL ALL MAGIC USERS

I like the Qunari. I didn't actually make the connection between them and Ogres in the first game because horns are so prominent in the Ogre's design and all the other Darkspawn at least only looked like elongated versions of their corrupted species.

Though, this may just be me, why the hell do Elves turn into Shrieks and why can Genlocks do magic? Shrieks should be far more prominent and the magicky guys, and genlocks should be more like Shrieks.

In fact the Qunari were always meant to look more-or-less like they do in DA2, but due to technical and artistic time constraints in the first game (most particularly, the fact that you could have a Qunari in your party), you got the bronze-skinned humanoids. Which is probably for the best - there was a time that the Qunari were supposed to have horns as well as segmented tails with stingers.

The concept art for -those- Qunari is still proudly displayed right by one of the fifth floor kitchens.

Any chance you could share that concept art with us?

I can't wait until DA3 when the tails come back.

In DA4 it'll be big bat wings.

The Qunari will just keep getting more and more ridiculous each game.

They decided that having Qunari be taller, vaguely discolored humans was kind of uninteresting.

Quick question: So DA2 is released tomorrow in the US. Now if someone from the US were to gift me (germany) the game and I paid them back, then would I be able to play it tomorrow already? I'd buy it from the european store just as well, but here it doesn't even show a release/download date yet!

    let's be honest
back when Origin's came out they totally were just that right? It's not them having horns that's the retconn, it's the them being an entirely new race.

it's ok, we can all be honest in the DA thread. We're all friends here.

So since I played DA:O my harddrive crashed and took all my save games with it. This is probably a silly question but I would assume this means no importing of previous data correct?

My main curiosity being whether the information is coming solely from those files or whether it is imported from the info tied to my EA account.

So I haven't been following DA2 news AT ALL and had no idea Janeway was back. Didn't I assimilate her back in the first game?? when the heck does thsi game actually take place? also is tuvok back?

oh also why is everybody carrying around JRPG sized swords because holy cow. (also flemeth's new look is pretty jawsome but also shockingly different)

edit - Dragkonias is that for reals? cause...

Morrigan states pretty clearly in the first game that even if you off Flemeth she's almost certainly not dead dead.

And as for her appearance being way different...she's a shapeshifter.

see that's a BS argument as morrigan clearly says that being a shapeshifter doesn't allow you take different human forms.

    It's a retcon.
Flemeth didn't look like an old hot morrigan, now she does.
    boners for everyone.

I think Morrigan just says that SHE can't take on other human forms. And/or has no interest in taking other human forms.

    You lot are hilarious.
You can't in one sentence dismiss Morrigan's response to whether or not shapeshifting can be used to shift into someone else's shape but then totally trust her statement regarding her mother being able to do so (which, quite frankly, I don't ever recall her saying).
She's either trustworthy or she isn't, you can't cherrypick her responses based on what you want to believe or interpret into the game.

No one lies 100% of the time or tells the truth 100% of the time. And technically she doesn't say Shapeshifters can't take other human forms, only that she can't because she has difficulty envisioning herself as another person. With the implication being, you know, if you were detached enough from your body you would be able to do it. Which means she never lied at all and is totally trustworthy in this.

before today the last post I made in a PA dragon age thread was something along the lines of bitching that Awakening cost 40 bucks for only 15 hours of content compared to paying 50 for Origins for over 50 hours of content.

Heh, I'm still waiting on an Ultimate Edition sale for that reason. I figure it's cheaper to just buy the main game again and get Awakening/DLC with it than to buy any of it seperate. Seems like Awakening never goes on sale for a decent price.

    OK: Here is the story.

Auto-attack option for consoles was added in to the games late in the development cycle after the initial certification build was sent. The auto-attack functionality was sent to be added to the game for testing and approval. This was why staff said it was in game.

Due to an error during mastering, the auto-attack file was omitted during manufacture.

We apologize for this. It was meant to be in game, but it is not currently in the console versions. We are working on how best to distribute this to console users. When we have information, we will let everyone know.
