Every Microsoft release is going to revolutionize something or other. Occasionally they do. I mean, GFWL pretty well revolutionized how irritating game patches are capable of being.

The DX11 option in DA2 full game with the high res texture pack has problems with some nvidia cards and a more general problem with dual card setups apparently

But the problem appears to be nvidia's end and they've been spamming beta drivers to try and improve performance

BTW, does anyone know what the inventory system is like in DA2? I'm really, really hoping it's not as retarded as DAO's. I was getting so sick of not being able to pick up stuff in that game just because my inventory was full.

Its almost the same, with a worse interface and there is no 'general' tab anymore.

    *sigh*
Should probably stress at this juncture that I doubt that inventory management will be anywhere near as much of a problem as it was in DAO, given that the only armour you'll be collecting will be for Hawke, so if it isn't better than what you've already got it's vendor trash.
Also, the crafting system has changed so there're no ingredients to carry around with you anymore.
Throw into all of this the fact that Hawke has a storage chest and everything's coming up roses for the inventory.

I wonder if they'll still require you to put an item in trash before you can destroy it though. That was silly.

Oh good, I had forgotten about the party equipment thing, and I didn't know there were no crafting mats. Crafting garbage is by FAR the biggest problem with DAO's inventory system.

From the demo mod, the tabs really are rather awkward. And the font size is like 2-3 times larger for no good reason. And the icons are a hell of a lot less useful. And I don't recall if the scroll wheel even worked.

Just finished another playthrough of Awakenings, this time with my mage character. So I'm ready for import into DA2 tomorrow.

The ending of that game is a bit bugged. The Codex and Questlog say one thing and the Epilogue text just before the credits says another.
Basically I saved Amaranthine instead of returning to Vigil's Keep during the ending sequence. I had fully upgraded everything at the Vigil, so I knew it would hold. However after I saved the city, the Codex said that everyone I left at the Vigil was killed and the keep was overrun. The Quest Log said the same thing. However in the epilogue text it said the Vigil held out and broke the sieging army of Darkspawn and all the companions I left to defend it survived except Sigrun.

Guess I'll just have to wait and see what the import says, to know which source is correct.

Wow, so Amazon fucked up my payment info and shipping info (listed as Free Super Saver, so I'll get the game around the 16th...) and needs me to re-enter it. However since the signature edition is no longer available as a "in-stock" item, it's throwing an error when trying to adjust anything with the order. After talking with 2 people, the only option is looking like a re-order which will be the standard edition.

    Fun times...

Too bad you can't trust reviews anymore. They're all bought and paid for by the publishers. They always give all these high scores to "popular" schlock that couldn't entertain a twelve year old and give low scores to actually good games because smaller devs and publishers can't really afford it.

Nothing they can do it seems, since Amazon's system shows the signature edition as out of stock. My only hope would be for them to credit me the $5.60 it's now going to cost me to get the DLC I should have gotten for free.

It will re-write your hard disk.
Not only that, but it will scramble any disks that are even close to your computer.
It will recalibrate your refrigerator’s coolness setting so all your ice cream melts.
It will demagnetize the strips on all your credit cards, screw up the tracking on your VCR,
And use subspace field harmonics to render any cds you try to play unreadable.
It will give your ex-boy/girlfriend your new phone number.
It will mix antifreeze into your fishtank.
It will drink all your beer and leave its socks out on the coffee table when there’s company coming over.
It will put a dead kitten in the back pocket of your good suit and hide your car keys when you are late for work.
DA2 will make you fall in love with a penguin.
It will give you nightmares about circus midgets.
It will pour sugar in your gas tank and shave off both your eyebrows while dating your current boy/girlfriend behind your back,
And billing the dinner and hotel room to your visa card.
    It will seduce your grandmother
It does not matter if she is dead, such is the power of DA2, it reaches out beyond the grave to sully those things we hold most dear.
It moves your car randomly around parking lots so you can’t find it.
It will kick your dog. it will leave libidinous messages on your boss’s voice mail in your voice!.
    It is insidious and subtle.
It is dangerous and terrifying to behold. It is also a rather interesting shade of mauve.
DA2 will give you dutch elm disease. It will leave the toilet seat up.
It will make a batch of methamphetamine in your bathtub,
And then leave bacon cooking on the stove while it goes out to chase high school kids with your new snowblower.
These are just a few of the signs. Be very very careful!!

I thought they were just a particular human culture. Like Northern Barbarians sort of thing.

There are actual northern barbarians. They're called the Avvar or something.

Someone please tell me I got the name wrong. I haven't played the game in a year and I'm pretty sure that fact is only mentioned in the codex or something so by all rights it's not something I should still know. Especially considering I've forgotten like 70% of the stuff I learned in college.
