There is no Firelands only Zul. SE++ WoW (Brogay supersux)
it's just annoying and boring that the only thing i can do when i pull aggro is stop attacking and stand there
but i guess that's my punishment for pulling aggro
That's what we did in vanilla with the fury dps warriors. They'd pull aggro, get a res from a soulstone, keep dpsing, pull aggro and die again... get a rebirth, keep dpsing...
And then top the charts.
e: Toss in a salv somewhere in there if you were alliance at the time, you'd get more uptime! Before pulling aggro and dying again
It really sucks for me on phase 3 of Ascendant council because A. If I pop cooldowns and DPS hard I will pull aggro and that fucks up the tank kiting bit or B. I don't do anything for the first few seconds and waste valuable dps time, The number of 1% wipes we've had there are ridic
I don't know what it is about plate melee dps but they always seem to be the ones pulling aggro off me in dungeons.
All ranged dps and melee dps are in there attackin' away with aoe and regular damage but as soon as you throw a warrior or a dk or something in there, their threat shoots up like wildfire and they pull aggro.
I'm not really sure why they're so reluctant to give good threat dumps to everyone.
I would guess its because DPS gets super super boring when you can DPS for 5 hours straight and never feel like you're even close to pulling real threat (the kind you can't disperse instantly).
The most fun I ever had on my mage was in BWL where I was hitting chromatic dragons for huge numbers and running for my life.
Spamming fireball and pyro in Uldum for 5 hours straight? ehhh, not as fun. for me at least.

well, ranged get a larger buffer by being at range, so there's that
It used to be that many melee also got a pretty good implicit threat reduction (some versions came from their stance) so the threat per damage before dumps wasn't too different between melee and ranged, but I think they pretty much took those out completely.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
I've done a number of randoms as DPS when there weren't many shamblers on and I didn't feel like tanking. I think there was one time where I wasn't constantly tanking stuff anyway and that was in HSFK with a paladin tank. He was doing crazy damage those undeads.

Are the pure DPS classes the only ones with real full threat wipes?
That'd be like the one actual advantage they have over hybrids!
Technically my threat wipe isn't full, but reducing current threat by 90% is close enough to full that I think it's safe to say that pure dps classes do have the best threat dumps.
(And it's on a pretty short cooldown and is instant)

We were in turtle mode... our flag was being held by a level 79 prot warrior in full cata BOE greens (lol?).
he was hiding on that second story balcony within the flag room in the door frame so I couldn't get behind him
He had two paladins with him who were way weaker than I was... but it didn't really matter. The warrior would have crushed me.
So I spent the next 6 minutes on the top story just throwing down distracts at his guards to annoy them.
And I think the warrior caught on to this, and he dropped the flag in what I can only assume was either an attempt to lure me out, or to hand it off to one of the guards so he could go and fight.
Either way, I dropped down, took the flag, and sprinted away. They didn't land the first blow.
Can someone name this addon? I saw it in a video and now I can't find the video.
It appeared to be a buff/debuff timer with a single horizontal bar, and each icon representing the spell going from right to left as it expired...
The icons were a little bit larger than the bar itself so it stood out... It's not Elkano's Buff Bar, as it didn't look like it and all the buffs were mashed into one bar.
It was being used by a priest if that matters. I think it may have even been showing her all her renews on different targets but the video wasn't clear enough for me to be sure.

I remember tanking Wailing Caverns waaaay back in the day with just rockbiter and earthshock.
that is how I felt tuesday
cold shivers despite that the house was 70 degrees with the heat on
Based on what I've seen I'm fairly sure they could probably still tank in a pinch at least well through the 60's.
The way that ability reads it's talking about all threat, not just melee threat. An elemental shaman would be pretty decent.
Last night I finished a Zul'Drak with a Felguard tanking with complete ease. If a Felguard can tank a final boss... yeah.
we also talk about other random shit and clown upon each other
Shame you don't get Rockbiter nowdays until level 75, making it even more useless.
why.. why would they even do that?
I want to be in that meeting
"uhh, we have this spell. nobody has used it since 2.0".
"remove its DPS benefit, turn it into tanking spell, and make it trainable past the point where it's useful for anything but WarcraftMovies videos"

But we got some cheevos down, and finished Mont's Defender of a Shattered World meta
I'm down to just Ascendant Descending and the kill 20 crocs cheevos for the meta.
like how rogues and clothies have stuff to reduce their threat once they've pulled aggro
Warriors no.
Pallies could bubble and not touch the mob for a few seconds I guess.
Paladins have Blessing of Salvation.
but i guess that's my punishment for pulling aggro

At least we have threat meters nowadays.
It made you immune to physical damage but not magic and triggered forbearance. That saved me quite a bit.

Although, I can't complain about my own.

He said wipe, not reduction. I guess if the shaman dies->ankhs, does that count Mirren? :P

No that don't count!

tl;dr sometimes being a rogue is awesome

I think its SexyCooldown?
Sexycooldown does the same thing, but I think http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7532-ForteXorcist.html is the one from the video that he's talking about.
