Hi,
I have started to play Magic: the Gathering again, mostly using Magic Workstation. While browsing through older editions, I stumbled upon Homelands. Even back then, that expansion was dissapointment, to put it mildly. There was some cards that were actually useful, but most cards ranged from very expensive (Baron Sengir) to completely useless (Apocalypse Chime).
So, I got this really ridiculous idea. How would Homelands expansion look like if it was designed today? I mean, the premise itself isn't that bad. It is just that most of the cards are pretty uninteresting, bad, or boring. So I got this crazy idea. Let's create our own Homelands expansion using same artworks and titles, but re-writing actual cards completely. People often claim that they can create better expansions that WOTC, so here is your chance.
Rules for design
Each volunteer picks one card from the expansion, and posts the re-designed card on this thread, explaining the design philosophy behind it. For rules, you can use any rules from Magic 2011, but not any expansion specific rules like Flanking, Cycling, Shadow, etc. Try to stay reasonable, and within what could be expected from card rarity.
Stats

You can see list of the cards

CREATURE - WALL

Vigilance
2U: Exile target creature from the play. When Dark Maze put into graveyard from the play, return creatures exiled by Dark Maze under control of their owners.
REASONING: It sounds somewhat fitting that creatures get lost in Dark Maze. Thematically it suits Blue pretty well, and it isn't overpowered by any means. It can give safe haven from cards that destroy all permanents, or be used to guzzle opponents creatures away.
