I just beat Laguna's chapter. He was the most fun to play as so far. I shouldn't have started the battle with such low HP, but it felt badass to activate Cactuar in the middle of a Satellite Beam and break the enemy's bravery.
I have discovered that Holy > Flare spam with Bartz from above totally shuts him down. He's only got about 20,000 HP left and Bartz still has over 9,000.
Ah, trolling with Holy. If only the Dissidia AI was sentient then maybe they could understand the poetic justice in this.
Man, what is the point? Sephiroth already assumes that form anyway with his EX.
Bah, look at me, questioning the Sephiroth whoring.
That Laguna outfit though....oh yes, I want.
Actually, if you look closely, he's in EX Mode in the screenshot.
Also, FUCK YES, BIRTH OF A GOD.
I'd be more excited if they were arrangements instead of just straight-up rips of the original music. Sure, there's a cool nostalgic factor to playing the original FFVII battle theme, but I feel a bit miffed paying for these tracks when I could just include them myself had the game allowed custom soundtrack support.
If NA Square was smart (they aren't), they would include both the costume and the music as a "bundle", each new costume including a selection of tracks to help sweeten the deal.
I really do want that Zidane hood. It's getting crazy popular right now.
While I wouldn't trust him with any heroine after 3rd Birthday, it does reinforce that Square always considers the character first before their design.
On that subject, I'm again very pleased how the new female characters were handled in Dissidia. Each of them were played to their strengths, and made the last dungeon in 012's story particularly effective, considering...
Yuna and Tifa were basically sacrificing themselves to protect their loved ones (though the latter was doing it unknowingly due to amnesia).
I'm playing Terra's chapter now, and my nostalgia buttons have been pressed as they recreate the snow field while playing her theme.
People have complained about her being weak-willed and lacking confidence, but the truth is that's how she always was. Thing is, being weak and refusing to fight is actually what makes her a strong character in the first place.
Jesus it is impossible to post on the forums right now.
Anyway I have a question about final fantasy x. If anyone is familiar with the story maybe they can help me out.
Actual spoiler for the game
If anima is seymour's final aeon why doesn't he die when he summons it?
It's been a while since I played, but I don't think it is.
His mother is the Fayth for Anima, but that doesn't mean its a final aeon.
Creating a final aeon requires either assistance or knowledge from Yunalesca. That's part of the reason the party wonders if they did the right thing after killing her.

If anima is seymour's final aeon why doesn't he die when he summons it?
It's been a while, but I believe it's because he didn't use the Aeon to defeat Sin.
That's the point of the sacrifice: the final Aeon is used on Sin, the Summoner dies, and the person who became the Aeon is reborn as the next Sin.
Seymor thought the process was pointless (as it turned out, he was right), so he just kept Anima around to further his goals.
I still wonder who Yuna would have chosen if she decided to go with the ritual.
Final Aeon Lulu...(nosebleed)
I guess I just sort of assumed
that the summoner would give up their life specifically to summon the aeon and it would just fight on its own. I kind of wish they had been more specific.
edit@gjaustin
His mother specifically tells him to use her as the final aeon to beat sin though. This happens in zanarkand right outside yunalesca's door.

Short answer; it's not his final aeon, it's just an aeon.
Longer much bigger spoiler answer;
Anima is Seymour's mom, and you can actually get her. She's in that crazy temple area where you first end up in Spira and get rescued by Rikku. Map coordinates in the airship; X 14, Y 60.
If you already knew this then the most likely answer is plot hole.
Well he dies like nine times but there's nothing to suggest he had died prior to the first time you kill him.
edit: And yeah I know you can get anima as an aeon. Sorry if I sound anal but this is really bugging me because the story is pretty tightly written outside of a few weird instances.
His mother specifically tells him to use her as the final aeon to beat sin though. This happens in zanarkand right outside yunalesca's door.
Well, that doesn't mean she's RIGHT.
I got the impression from the cutscene that they didn't quite manage to make it all the way to Yunalesca, so his mother had to sacrifice herself early.
Here is EXACTLY how Sin and Anima work. Played this recently
Yu Yevon takes OVER the aeon used to kill sin, that's how a new sin is born. The summoner is killed BY his final aeon after using it to kill sin. Yunalesca tells us this. Only Yunalesca can create the final aeon as it requires a sacrifice to be made and I guess only she knows how to do that.

PSP download time for Dissidia - 130 minutes.
MediaGo download time - 16 minutes
Still, I got about thirteen hours out of Prologus. That's pretty damn good for $3. It also seems like I've got another thousand hours ahead of me, especially since I didn't play the original Dissidia.
EDIT: Alright what the hell? I transfered the file to the PSP, and as soon as it finished it vanished from both the PSP and my computer, so here I am downloading it again.
EDIT2: Or not. I really wish those icons had some text, or looked slightly different from each other. Would have saved me about half an hour of frustration over nothing.
So why is it that sometimes, I meet the condition for bonus AP, and don't get it. What gives?
I've noticed this too at first. I think square just worded it badly. When they say "First HP attack over 2300" to get +3 AP for example, they mean the very first successful HP attack has to be over 2300. Your first hp attack cannot be under 2300. Same with the opponent. If he pulls off any successful HP attack, the condition fails. I'm pretty sure it works this way because when I was farming lvl 1 opponents for AP, I'd always get the condition every time by getting the first HP attack. My bravery was also always at 9999 due to the level difference to fulfill any condition.
A Kojima-made FF game would pretty much be the best thing I can possibly imagine. Come to think of it, there's a lot of designers I'd love to see direct an FF title.

Dear Pinhole Galleria, if you're going to put a locked door and ask me to win a battle, you also have to put a god damn battle card ahead of it so it's possible. This is the 3rd fucking time you've done this, it's not funny anymore.

I've got level 100 team of Bartz, Golbez, Cecil, Gilgamesh, and Zidane. It's not getting me anywhere on this guy.
All of them have full sets of Lufaine gear.

You can't get hit before you meet the condition.
Pretty dang retarded they don't tell you that secret bit of info.
By the enemies HP attack or by bravery attacks as well. Because if it's the latter, then fuck.

Any, HP or bravery.
Just to be clear, once you meet the condition, you can get hit to your hearts content. You just can't be tagged at all before you do.
