In summary, it is possible and even a good idea to set up a system where ANY player would be rewarded for physical presence in North America, regardless of the "home training camp" of that player. The physical separation is sufficient to create a new market.
Maybe I'm wrong, and there should never be meat-space SCII games ever again, but I think games and sports thrive better when they have local heroes at every level of play.
I think that any eGaming scene has to be developed by local tournaments, RAVE-like grassroots, an dthat by forcing it from above is the completely wrong way to do it.

playing pretty bad today
I never seem to be able to gain anything by defending against DTs. seems either I don't and I die or I do and by the time I can possible move out I am even. but the game that happened I lost more because I attacked at such a bad angle and you know, toss had forcefields and colossus so I couldn't reposition or pull back or anything.
and then he had storms so if I hadn't attacked right there I was fucked anyway. arghghg. just gotta be more careful I s'pose.
then I lost where I thought I got a little ahead and then was suddenly overwhelmed. but I played badly that game anyway and the other dude was just cleaner.
then a zerg was hurting me but he kept losing his whole army when he was killing mine, he was only on one extra base, it was super close... and he dropped! woo. free win. 8-)
I would like to take this moment to point out that I totally called it that they were saving the koreans to announce last...expect MC and any other high profile korean who applied to be announced tomorrow.
See, I'm not happy the NASL is trying to be a "best league in the world" and then ignore the best players in the world.
BUT, there is a serious lack of knowledge of some great players from non-korea. I am certain there are amazing players out there that don't have the fanbase they should have because the foreign scene is really focused on a handful of individuals. Getting more names out there showcasing who the best foreigners actually are is important.
They're not? If you look at today's announcement it was all Koreans (except for ret). And they still have 4 more spots to announce tomorrow (expect korean A-listers). Like I said yesterday, they've just been saving the koreans to announce last.
About the whole koreans in the NASL thing. Koreans should absolutely 100% be allowed to compete in the NASL, provided they pass whatever type of qualifiers that they hopefully put in place at some point. That said, I do think the NASL should be played out 100% on the U.S. server. None of this switching back and forth like in the TSL (which is fine...for the TSL). This is the NA star league. You want to compete? Then you either get your ass over here or you put up with the lag. This is no different than what's expected of foreigners who want to compete in the GSL (and they don't even have the laggy option).

Just because they are Korean doesn't make the players selected today the best in the world. They are good, sure, but far from the best and will probably easily lose to some of the NA (edit: foreigner) players.
4 slots just isn't enough to get the very best of the Koreans, although to be fair I'm not sure who all applied from korea.

I realize this...however not all the top korean players applied. And anyway, squirtle and rainbow are both top players (squirtle more in performance than actual accomplishment). Zenio is a solid player...only ensnare seems a bit lackluster. And there are 4 more slots left. That would be MC, MVP, Nestea, and MKP if I had to pick top 4 koreans. Who else is there that should 100% be in the NASL? And I don't think all 4 of those guys applied (I only know that MC did).
I know that...but they only have 4 players left to actually pick right? The last remaining slot goes to the winner of some tournament Or did they change that?
If im right the sea went down for maintenance same time as did for the last patch a week ago, so it would hold the other servers will go down the same.

Him and Jinro are doing 2v2 with their off-races and shittalking one another
It's like the best buddy cop movie
If non-Koreans win this will be a fantastic blow to everyone who goes "Koreans are just better mmk"
oh wait I don't read tl I may be wrong
seems like most people are on the 'they have a better training regiment and therefor win more often' track. but maybe I'm just dodging the retards
so hey when is ladder unfreezing and resetting? I am debating between finishing my last 30 bonus pool points and not playing again til it resets.
it'll just get blamed on lag

There's a couple people on these boards who I've seen put forth the position that Koreans are just better than other people.
Nope, but thanks for playing.

qualifiers? nasl? haha
nope, it's pure invite by committee
only the first season. Following seasons are based on 2 sets of qualifiers where 16 new players can get in

correct
and we are currently experiencing the first season
I realize that it is right now. I'm hoping that they have plans for some type of qualifier system eventually.
EDIT: and apparently the do...that's good.
