So Prophet's mind has now merged with Alcatraz? Or is that just the suit itself talking when he says "They call me Prophet"? Either way, Nomad and Psycho need to come back for the next game.
Prophet is dead, but merged his personality and experiences with the suit's A.I. Alcatraz is technically now a zombie in the suit, which needs a living organism to continue moving. Part of him now is alien, as the suit amalgamated the DNA profiles of all of them. More info in the OP.
Alright, yeah I get it. So Alcatraz is literally just a body at this point? Are any of his brain functions influencing anything? Or is he just a part-alien corpse for the suits A.I.? Which in that case would mean the suit is a straight up machine.
It would be pretty cool to play as Nomad or Psycho for the next game alongside Alcatraz/Prophet, to see how they react to him/it and how him/it reacts to them.
That's what I'm trying to make sense of, if Alcatraz actually still has any mind left at all, by the time he got to the CELL lab and was rigged up and scanned he had sustained injuries that would have killed most people, broken bones, ruptured internal organs, he was only a shell of his former self by this time. When Hargreaves took over his comms channel and spoke to him as "Alcatraz", he was still acknowledging himself as this. By the end when he proclaims to be Prophet. Prophet's real name is Laurence Barnes and alcatraz now has it as the suit bearer. Seems to be taking a page out of Metal Gear's bizarre plot twists.
Alright, yeah I get it. So Alcatraz is literally just a body at this point? Are any of his brain functions influencing anything? Or is he just a part-alien corpse for the suits A.I.? Which in that case would mean the suit is a straight up machine.
Regarding the suit/Alcatraz:
My impression of things, is that the relationship between the two is symbiotic. Perhaps somewhat similar to Venom from the Spiderman comic books. The suit is sustaining and enhancing alcatraz, but at the same time alcatraz provides the decision-making capabilities that the suit lacks. It doesn't appear to be a full blown AI, since it still operates within pre-programmed parameters. If that weren't the case, given that it's employing nanotech, there's very little reason it couldn't re-assemble itself as something other than a suit.
The suit admittedly, Prophet within it, talks TO Alcatraz. That's how they communicate. "Get up soldier." But even when he's revealing the story to the player/Alcatraz.
The thing at the end though is that the response is unanimous. Either Alcatraz accepts that they're both in there doing the thing, or they just merged completely into one being.
Once the player is out of the character's body, then THE MERGING IS COMPLETE as it may be.

Just reading through the emails, the only one I'm missing is "Hargreave betrayed".
Some info from a few of the last ones :
Hargreave signs off :
Hargreave apologises to Nathan Gould stating that he woke the aliens in Lingshan and he wanted to be the one to also fix his own mistake by taking the suit in it's full potential state and deliver the virus personally.
Lockhart Attacks N2 programme :
Lockhart is against the use of the Nanosuits stating he does not want to see well trained soldiers the country can be proud of not "Frankenstein parade of psychopaths and dead men walking in tin suits". He also states that the users are never fully advised about the functions and does not want to take part in it.
Board Defends N2 programme:
Board tells Lockhart to go fuck himself with a barbed wire bat and the funding of the programme will continue.
Hmmm. I'm going to have to go back and find that last email.
Did not know this, but firing a silenced pistol or a few bursts from a silenced scarab will not decloak you.I was dicking around on the lowest difficulty, is that why?
Also, I find the game to be more enjoyable early on where its mainly just Cell guys. Not sure why.

Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
The Far Cry demons were pretty fun at first. At first.
And Far Cry 2 had nothing but human opponents, with pretty good AI and great gameplay and vehicle implementation.
Too bad the constant respawns of said humans, godawful story, and mission design that involved retreading most major areas a dozen times ruined that game. Still, I beat it start to finish and collected every diamond so I can't bitch about it too much, as I must have liked something about it to have done that. But seriously, as basic and hokey as the plot for Far Cry 1 was, Far Cry 2's plot makes it look like gold.
"Hey let's have a game where you get plenty of choices, and none of them matter, then you get sick and die. Oh, and let's have you shoot your friends who you've been protecting most of the game for no good reason whatsoever. And you never shoot your target despite obvious chances too during times you have absolutely no reason to let him live." I could go on but jesus I can only assume the writer had the absolute worst trip to Africa ever, then used that game as a vessel to channel his anger by painting the country as a giant asshole-filled continent where you go to suck and die.

A new Crysis 2 PC patch is scheduled to go live later today. Below you will find a list of the top fixes.
List of changes
• Further improved anti-cheat measures
• Fix for spurious characters appearing when initiating text chat
• Fix for Chatlog doesn't disappear after kill cam
• Fixed occasional login issues
• Changed VOIP defaults
• Fixed some UI aspect issues on multiple monitors
• Added option for crouch toggle in MP & SP
We’re working hard with our Ranked Server Partners to switch the servers at the same time that the patch goes live – but inevitably this will take time so we ask for your patience. When you launch the game, the patch will auto-download. If you cannot find servers, please exit the game and re-start to ensure the patch has applied.
You can check the version number by selecting Properties on Crysis2.exe and selecting Details. The correct version after patching will be 1.2.0.0, and the executable will be signed by Crytek GmbH.

This is true on post human warrior. You can fire 3-4 shots from a silenced scarab without cloak breaking. It's incredibly exploitable.
Either the suit is playing a soundbyte from when Prophet spoke to him, or possibly the suit is synthesizing what he wants to say with Prophet's voice since I don't think it's ever heard him speak. Think about it, the man had undergone enough injuries under that suit to kill half an army, I don't think he can speak anymore.
So I guess it's just me and Keenbean on the PC :<?
For all the complaints about PC multiplayer being a warren of cheaters, I would assume not.
But then I would assume the PC folks aren't playing multi. I'm a little guilty of this as well.
I'm playing MP, on PC. Taking the fight to the cheaters. It's not a fair fight. Though some cheaters running around with shotguns are to stupid to use the terrain to sneak up on me, and get shot before they get in range.
Seriously though, I wouldn't say the game is rampant with (successful) cheaters but I can miss the extra frustration when one does crop up.

I see no mention of the patch improving armor mode. Great! That means I have to wait some more weeks until Patch 1.3 actually makes my preferred style of play just as difficult as the others.
Far Cry 2 was great as an atmosphere piece, but it couldn't really sustain as a game. Having to backtrack and revisit the same places over and over and over again killed it.
Gah just had this crash (on PS3) around about the half way mark and it's corrupted the save game! I'm not starting again, it wasn't that good!
Yeah, I'm still shocked at how terrible the PS3 version is. I bought it thinking I was buying a dumb but really REALLY pretty shooter, but it turns out it's also a fairly ugly game on the system.
I'm sure the other versions are a visual treat but Uncharted 2 and Killzone 3 just blow the PS3 version out of the water even on the graphical front.
This game makes it so hard to like it. I logged on just then to find my "retriever" stats reset back to something much lower than what it was at yesterday. So I guess there went all my "nano recharge" stats from yesterday too. And that last one is a bitch to get. 500 recharges for the level 1 upgrade...
It seems the ingame achievements were ment for the long haul, one the game might not even get with the shape it's in. And that makes me sad, because this can be a really good game.

Good News to the 5.7% of the market that has a DirectX11 card.
"We would like to announce that there will be a DX11 patch released for Crysis 2. We are working to get the best out of DX11, so we’ll wait to announce the features until a little closer to release."
Once this comes out I expect ->
- More complaints.
- Frame-rate complaints
- Even more complaints about something,

Basically they announced that they aren't announcing anything. We already knew DX11 was getting patched in. We know exactly what we knew after the 'announcement' as we did before it.
In other news, I have been playing the multi and I am hilariously bad. PC duders need to become my friends so we can shoot at mans together.

Well aware. There was massive amounts of complaints about there being no official word on the DX patch, even some people saying that it was a lie and will never come out. Obviously so they think they have the power to demand and receive an answer, of fulfil a self entitled need that someone is paying attention to their whining.
So I just tried my hand at doing some multiplayer.
I fucking suck, not touched an online FPS in far too long. My damn response time is so slow that I keep seeing in kill cams and going "I SHOULD have been able to kill him."
But other than that I saw no sign of cheating, it's fun.

Unrelated: Since the nanosuit seems to be symbiotic how does one poop?
So uh...Do any of the three other dudes on the 360 list want to shoot mans with me tonight? It's so lonely playing with strangers. And increasingly awful when I get a team that won't help hold the crash site or help defend or do escort.
Just played some more, my retriever stats were back to 0, got about 39 kills, I log out, I log back in, retriever stats are reset to 0.
I won't be playing C2 untill this issue is fixed. I will be playing Homefront in stead.
