Voting is underway, for some reason or another, to determine what games will be displayed in the upcoming Smithsonian Exhibit "The Art of Video Games"
The Art of Video Games exhibition, opening on March 16, 2012, will explore the 40-year evolution of video games as an artistic medium, with a focus on striking visual effects, the creative use of new technologies, and the most influential artists and designers. We want you to help us select the eighty video games that will be represented in the exhibition. Remember, this is an art exhibition, so be sure to vote for games that you think are visually spectacular or boast innovative design!

Some of the decisions they have made for nominees are... interesting. And the lack of ICO in the PS2 section is somewhat of a crime. To be fair, they did include Shadow of the Colossus, God of War 2, and THUG 2... yeah. Also REZ.

However, it did bring me great giggly fits of joy to see P.N.03 up as a nominee in the Gamecube section competing against Star Fox Assault and Alien Hominid. I encourage everyone to vote for P.N.03 just because damn it you'd better!

Anyway, go vote, it's a good way to kill ten minutes and an interesting look at what the Smithsonian feels is the evolution of video game art direction and style.

Edit: Saw the story on Kotaku and didn't see a thread or anything, and search isn't working. So ignore this thread because I've just been PM'd that there are like four or five older ones.
