Page File size

So, I'm reinstalling XP, and I plan on setting up a partition solely for the OS, and another solely for the page file.

With 1 gig of RAM, how much pagefile space do you think would be appropriate?

    usually a 1:1 ratio is sufficent with 1GB.

    Most common answer is 1.5 times the amount of RAM.

    I have it at 2GB, as there used to be a problem with Vampire, The Masquerade: Bloodlines where it would crash if the pagefile was smaller than 2GB, and I've never had problems with it hard-set to 2048MB

    You can shrink/grow partitions with some programs, like the free GParted, and if it's not a system partition you might be able to do it without even restarting the system.

    I think i'll go with 2gb, just to be on the safe side.
