Hey guys,

As the title says. I deleted a jpeg photo which I had uploaded from my canon SD1000 some time in november 2010. I'm hoping it's still possible to recover it, can anyone help?

Cheers

edit: I'm using windows XP SP3

Use data recovery on your hard drive or on the memory card you were using in the camera. There are more than a few data recovery programs on the web. If its still there, they will find it.

Yeah, google "undelete" and try some demo versions to see if they even see it. I like GetDataBack but it's not free.

Stop using the drive and from an external computer run PhotoRec or something similar. I wouldn't hold out hope at all unless the computer isn't used much.

Someone posted a thread not long ago asking about data recovery software, and I recommended trying Recuva, which is freeware from a company that seems to make very good utilities. As I said in that thread, I haven't used it myself, but it's better than trying a bunch of demos as pacbowl suggested if it can find the file for you.

If needed I can upload a generic file recovery program for you, not the most advanced or featurefull...but its simple, small, and it works.

2 very nice tools, not too user friendly, but powerful.

Yeah chances are if it's been more than a month or two, your file has been deleted permanently.
