    The Lake District is pretty. Once went on a rambling trip with some friends there but all we really ended up doing was visiting different pubs and scaring the locals

    there was some hotel in blackpool that is horrible, and the owner/manager was responding to people's reviews on tripadvisor essentially telling them to get bent.

    Two of my best friends and I are planning a holiday over in Scotland in the next year or so. It's a celebration of the youngest of us turning 30.

    The plan right now is to land, rent 3 motorcycles and tour Scotland by bike.

    Good idea or best idea?

    I was watching Jonathan Creek the other day and didn't realise how dated it was. No mobiles, no mp3players, no decent cars, awful clothes. So 90s.

    Also, I like Whitby! ...kinda.

    It has excellent fish and chips shops (yes, I know you don't like them) and the Whitby Abbey is beautiful and overlooks the town and the coast.

    I've spent a goodly chunk of time there and have figured out that most things can be solved through the application of beer or whiskey. Those that cannot be solved by that particular manner tend to result in people each other out and then throwing telephone poles.
