Phalla Township of the Midwest, Heartland USA
Phalla Township is a lovely place that for nearly 200 years has been home to simple folk with a love of America, Moms, and Apple Pie. Though Phalla isn’t as big as some of those supersized cities people flock to, it does just fine by those who have rightly come to call it theirs. Sure, there is the occasional call to break up a fight or two, but the big city problems had a way of staying in the big city. Until now.
In recent weeks, people have been turning up dead. These are violent, ugly crimes that have shocked the consciences of the local good people just looking to get by. Cops are stumped and the local papers are resorting to printing rumors and hearsay. All they know is that these crimes are perpetrated by a group of Murderers, and that these murderers will strike again.
Somebody, more likely a group of somebodies, needs to come together and solve this with some good old fashioned American justice. These bastards are gonna find out that God gave us liberty and the right to bear arms for a reason.
This is a standard miniPhalla, Mafia v. Village, designed for around 25 people. There are no roleblocks / busdrivers / vote manipulators / conversions.
Other Notes: The Township Vote is not guardable. There is no Vote Trickling effect. People killed by two methods just die twice. Anyone who doesn’t vote two days total will be eaten by the Unhappy Inactivity Bear and replaced. Only one ghost post, and obviously nothing game/role/murder-related. Don’t share PMs, or quote PMs, or picture PMs or whatever. ProBoards are A-OK but let me in, dammit!
Narration Notes: If I manage to screw up your gender (or anything else) in the narrations, PM me and I’ll fix it. Apologies in advance of those mistakes. I’m still a little wet behind the ears.

Rain.
For days, rain is waiting when you open your eyes and rain’s pattering lullaby is what takes you to sleep. Rain is cold and torrential, thundering and unwelcome. Everything is so quiet in Phalla Township, not that it ever gets loud, but a cemetery would find this silence awkward. Nobody is foolish enough to be out in this weather, nobody except for the wind and the rain. And the Murderers.
News is scarce, but the body count keeps piling up. Radio hosts who would normally be explaining the finer points of seasonal affected disorder are instead urging people to stay calm, stay inside, and lock their doors. The local news leads each night with more dead, more fear.
For now, there is little anyone can do. Sheriff Marlin was interviewed in her bright yellow parka, deputies standing at her side. “We have a few leads.” She says, her voice more certain than her eyes. “We’ll have this sorted out soon enough, and we can all get back to worrying about the weather.”
And so you wait, impatiently, for better news. Weatherman says the storm should pass any day now. But Meteorologist Murphy, Phalla Township’s 11 o’clock oracle, is rarely ever right.
Day 0 is here and will last until around 10pm EST when our game will begin in earnest. PMs will begin trickling out shortly. There will be no voting as we await the beginning, and there will be no deaths tonight, no powers activated. We will merely wait until the rain lets up.
