    It was a replica of the Death Star laser, but without the gigantic sphere around it

    So it was just a cylindrical space station and someone said it was shaped like a lightsaber
    But it was painted black, so maybe we should call it...

    The best part was there was this huge buildup for the whole book and when they actually tried to fire the damn thing it turned out they'd wired something wrong and the entire station just blew up

    When the conflict of your book could have been solved by doing nothing and letting things work themselves out maybe you shouldn't have written that book
