I've been following and using GotR since before I knew where it came from. I registered here so I would finally have people to play it with on Steam. Could I please have a group invite? Just updated to the 1.9 beta.

Not to be a dick, but the general rule for the group is that you need to be an active member of the community here at PA, rather than just signing up and only having 1 post. I would suggest starting to post and participate in this thread and others, and ask me again in a couple months. Sound good?

You can still ask in this thread if anyone is up for a game. I think you can even go in the Steam group chat without being a member and ask there.
Though you can get fast-tracked if you show us some screen-caps of your hideous creations. I don't know if that's true since I just made it up, but if I were an admin it would be!

I've yet to play online, either... really looking forward to it. But you have to be careful when you hit someone up for an online game with the GotR mod; I *think* everyone has to have the same version (locked vs. unlocked, 360 vs. PS3 prompts, 1.8 release vs. 1.9 beta). So if the stars align, great.
Also Sir Carcass can't play with you because he's busy playing DCS: Flip Switcher

It's funny because it's true
There's also the expansions, DCS: Knob Turner and DCS: Button Pusher.
I'm pretty sure the prompt versions don't matter, just release version.

I kid because I love.
On a more topic-centric note: Hey Idol, quick question: I finally figured out how to unlock the other melee styles via the story missions, but I noticed in the "unlocked" version of your mod, these aren't unlocked by default. Is this by design?
For the record, this is the first time I've ever played past recruiting the Saints Lieutenants in the main story so I never realized how to do half the things in this game. Once I finish I'll use the unlocked version.
Also, do the crazy weapons exist in the non-unlocked version? At what store?
The only thing that matters for coop compatibility is release version number. All the rest of the mods should be compatible unless noted in the installer.
All unlocks need to be in the same place for both open and standard to keep them compatible. For example, in the open version weapons are on sale for $1, but they also still unlock after the correct activity. So, gang melee styles will always unlock after mission 6 for both versions since there is no way to "sell" them.
By the time you finish you won't need the open version. Every single thing happens as an unlock as part of the missions or activities. The last few missions also give you 1.5 million in cash to spend.
All weapons unlock for sale after the final Ultor stronghold at the mall in the regular version. You can just get them early with the open version. Once again, the open version just lets you get stuff early that you would normally have to earn in the regular version.
Yeah but what about your "special" varients, like the nuke or the septic gun?
Or am I just retarded and those are ACTUAL weapons in the game? I mean, the more I play it I guess the more I realize they COULD be...
Also Johnny Gat for president.
I'm not sure what you mean. They aren't a variant. They are a unique weapon that was added in to the mod. The only difference between open and standard is that you can just buy them earlier in the open version. The weapons are delayed until endgame in the standard version so you can't use them to totally break missions and make things way too easy.

Gotcha; they are "new" weapons, but they are still in the locked version and open up at the end. Good 'nuff.
The Third Street saints might be the fastest growing gang in the country. Of course, we won't KNOW that until we turn them over to the one person who KNOWS speed; Our tame racing driver.
Some say, that when provoked, his head can turn a full 395 degrees, and that he is physically incapable of looking at peanut butter.
Making his time from start to mayhem one minute, fifteen point seven. The fastest time for a gang EVER! So it's confirmed. The saints ARE the fastest growing gang in the country!

They have beckoned me, and I had to answer. This game will be mine.
Did you guys realize there's a soldiers helmet in SR2? Because after 70 hours, I did not. I have decided my character is from now on going to be the "Commando gone commando". Let's see what you got SR3.

Pauly Shore wouldnt be too bad, not nearly as bad as say a Gilbert Gottfried voice.
I just want an Edward James Olmos voice pack for my character. So say we all!
"Yeah, I shot you in the leg, but now you can get money from a duck!"
Actually, I kinda hope they add an extra button just to say things. I always love it in games where there's a dedicated button for yelling things.
You know. Something like ' Press X to "take on me" '

I know it says more about the formulaic nature of modern music than anything, but does anyone else find it amazing how closely this actually syncs up?
Aisha Tyler
Dana snyder
Ken Jeong
Donald Faison
Bruce Campbell
and Breckin Mayer as Lindsey Lohan
..aaaand that's all i got for now but I'd pay top dollar for anyone of those.
God damn I love the vehicle handling in this game. Everything just turns on a dime.
Also, FUZZ, that diversion is still great.
About time someone put Saints Row theme song to the trailer.
Also, just noticed I was quoted in the OP. Nice.
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the mod. Your post quoted in the OP was just about perfect way to kick off the section on modding.
Also, stop by group chat sometime and play some coop with us!
